Nice. Love the fact that Va. Tech got it pretty close before half purely on adrenaline. It's obvious they're not in the same league talent-wise. I think Duke gets open shots and puts the clamps down on D in the 2h.
Not a fan of Duke myself. It was just obvious to me watching that 1h that Duke was head and shoulders better than Va. Tech. Only reason Va. Tech was even in the game at half is because they had the adrenaline working and their jungle ball style of play was somehow working. I knew Duke would settle down at some point.

va tech shoots more fts than duke and refs call more fouls on duke but yet refs are favoring duke? haneblows shoot 16 fts last time out and yet that is fine with the tarhole nation. notice how the only game unc lost the other team shot more free throws. what does that tell you.
That might have been the most laughable game I've ever watched. Refs on Duke right from the start.
You can't just point to FT's to tell the whole story, but yes it is always part of the story.
VaTech guy comes out on first possession and plays position D and gets run over. Might have been a little bit of a flop....Duke does it ALL THE TIME and almost always gets the call. They call it a block and apparently the refs and announcers both label him a flopper and give Duke every break there-after.
Anyway, very next play, a guy for Duke runs under a guy going up for a layup and sure enough...CHARGE...Lets go duke...
How about late in the game, the intentional foul called on VT. I agree with the call but it was not intended. SAME EXACT THING HAPPENS, unintended by Duke, and....NO CALL.
I wasn't going to write all this and theres so much more to write about last night's game. I held my tongue until Lowell's reply.

What about the fact that they are killing each other and then they call a hand check out top against va tech? Even the announcers admitted the foul was petty. The ACC refs bow down to coach k and if you say they don't you are living in a fantasy world.
I will admit that UNC has gotten their share of benefits of the doubt over the years. A lot of good teams "earn" that, which doesn't make it right.
I think Hansbrough is an overachiever who has worked his ass off to make himself a great player. That said, he is over-rated and gets away with walks and gets fouls called just by attacking the glass.
But what Duke does, and has done pretty much every single game since Hitler's back got better a decade ago is literally 10 times worse than any team I've ever seen.
They handcheck the entire game, flop and run under people several times a game and get charges on most of them, get any close call, etc.
Its a dirty, dirty team and you can't beat them. They can play as aggressive as they want knowing they won't get called. You can barely take a shot if your moving b/c a duke player will run to you and then fall and its a charge.
