Coach k is sensitive to the criticism for some of the forces to be here in this forum. he promises to use reggie love the football player more and keep him in for blocking purposes. reggie being an ex wide receiver k won't throw deep to him. now if the boys for chicago will not try and play up tempo we should have a 81-54 type of game.play under on sat in ny for a large play and oklahoma small on the ml . don't yell at me or the coach if the sooners choke like texas did last yr versus duke in new york.

lowell I think dukes lines are getting a little inflated but that's me, Banks may keep UIC under the number but then again I also had toledo the other night vs Puke, we shall see my friend, I wont say good luck on puke b/c I hate them and their arrogance and Ill probably be against you, but g luck with under, hopefully he doesnt tell redick and ewing to bomb away and throw alley oops up 25 with 3 mins left, how about letting them get a standing ovation and putting in the practice guys on the bench, oh no that may anger the rich jerk alumni who bet on them to cover, wouldnt want to upset them

if you know anything about duke and the south most of the alumni live in ny. perhaps that is why you hate duke grads so much.i have lived near duke for 45 years and i assure you there are 25 times more ncsu and unc alums in the area than duke grads. most of the rich alums are too smart or too rich to bet on games. i actually thought total would be higher and i may only play 1 unit under. get a ticket on sat and you can yell at coach k to your heart's content.

Yea lowell thats what I mean, I know many duke alums who work on wall st, etc who are very bright but they got an ego the size of texas. I don't hate coach k per say, it was more that I thought what he did was Bush, I mean he does graduate players and the like, I just felt it was wrong, I'm going to be in florida this wkend or I would go, the garden has a nice schedule of college buckets every year between the pre season nit, sometimes the jimmy v classic, etc, and this tourny, good stuff, g luck with the under

my sister and i went to duke. she graduated. i was drafted in 1971. we both had full rides, coming from a poor southern family. duke is a great university but sadly money is king in most cases. coach k is very military-like in his coaching. he refuses to let his players get ragged at the end of games. he is always teaching. unfortunately he is very stubborn. dukes beat uconn last year if he doesn't make shav or sheldon keep playing with those fouls. he made a grave mistake not playing patrick johnson, a slow 6-9 white guy frrom ga for 1 or 2 minutes and having him foul okalfor when touched the ball. by the same token his stubborness and will has produced some great wins. next year duke will be loaded ,having signed one of the top classes ever. this year k is enjoying trying to find the right method and rotation for this team. they will lose often in the conference but come march they might beat anyone. i for one wish duke did not get so much press.

Very good points Lowell. The guy I know who's brother went to Duke, came from upper-middle class but had nothing comnpared to some of the guys he met there who were rich beyond belief, it was a contest who had more money. I know coach k is a discipline guy and is always teaching, he's done a great job and he's a great coach, I forgot those mistakes he made last march and yes they were very grave and poor, duke did win with laettner but thats a while ago, and the one yr they beat arizona, but they also choked vs uconn and a few other years where they had the players, his tactical errors last march were bad though, Id agree, you cant argue with his success I guess it's just my personal preference of who I like or dislike

lowell dooks lines are getting inflated no doubt about it. i'm licking my chops for when dook and state both play a decent team, or hell on the road for that matter. Two of the most overrated teams in college basketball. I've watched almost all of dooks games and they do not look very good right now. Doesn't mean k won't have them in shape come ACC play but they are soft and will be beaten up this year.

duke may get swept by unc,ga tech and even wake but i expect a good team come tourney time. nelson is the best rebounding guard to play in the acc since bruce d. that played at ga tech tech. there is no pressure on duke for the first time in years. we shall see how unc handles all the expectations fans have this year. get duke this yr while the getting is good because things may go back to normal if duke's recruits come and unc loses jawaad,ray-ray and mccancer. who knows, even marvin may bolt. saw tyler h. play on tv and he is a horse.

tyler h will be good, i agree that dook is the most threatning when they are flying under the radar, which they are this year. Marvin Williams won't leave this year because roy won't give him the minutes he needs to get as high a pick as he should get. He'll go after next year.
