Just saw the opening number is UNC -4... I'm sure ESPN will talk about this being the game of the century... it's a very solid game, but it's still just a regular season game.

Lawson's injury will hurt the Tar Heels, but I had this game capped as UNC being a 6.5 to 7 point favorite with Lawson healthy. Does UNC have value laying just a couple buckets?

I like Duke myself. I think they actually have a good chance to win outright. Then again, I haven't exactly been tearing it up in college hoops this year, so take that with a grain of salt.

i think the only value in this game is the duke ML of +160 or so. (4 points with 2 good FT-shooting teams is 5 seconds at the end of the game) Duke's so deep, if Singler + Thomas or King can pull down some boards and keep Hansbrough out of the lane a little by double-teaming him, he may get a little flustered. he didn't score his first bucket til the 2nd half vs. FSU, and they were able to take the heels to OT. if they can control TH a little, maybe get him in some foul trouble, the devils will be able to keep UNC from getting some easy baskets and they can play a little rough since they're so deep. this one's gonna go to the buzzer.

go duke!

turnover margin vs rebounding margin will be the keys to the game. unc should outrebound duke but duke should turn unc over. i predict whoever has the higher margin will win the game. as far as getting tyler in foul trouble- he has never fouled out of a game in his career. it won't happen tonight. i am playing unc ml for a large play whether lawson plays or not.

Balls Deep
Latest word is that Ty Lawson was walking w/out a limp last night and is in an air cast. I still would be surprised if he played.

Assuming lawson is out dook is the play. They have very good ball pressure and with Quentin Thomas at point for most of the game dook will force a lot of turnovers and easy baskets. The Florida State game is a prime example, the heels had 17 or something turnovers. Against FSU they were able to get away with it but that won't happen against dook.

These games are hard to 'cap' because the rivalry adds emotion and things change. Today is like a holiday for us in NC, looking forward to a good game. I'd take dook ml and lay the points.

The x-factor for Carolina will be wayne ellington. Like last year, he's been non-existant as we make our way into the meat of the coference schedule. He really needs to step up. The other big key for carolina IMO is Deon Thompson.

i thought you said lawson is out for the season because this was a high ankle sprain. he will either play tonight or play this weekend.

This is a tough one. Duke +4 looks too easy, I thought the line would be a lot closer to a pick....figured at least 3 or less.

Pretty sure this is first rematch since azzwipe broke Hansbrough's nose. Hansbrough plays hard and gets calls but he is not dirty. He doesn't flop around. I don't like the fact that he gets so many calls, there was one ridiculous phantom call in the FSU game...

Duke would win easy if this game was in Cameron. If Duke plays like men, UNC should win. If they flop around like normal, then the refs will decide game.

I think Lawson's injury is going to help heels in long run b/c this forces QThomas to get more and more experience. He's playing solid ball but can't be relied on as starter in march.

Anyway, back to betting, I lean to UNC -4 but will probably buy it down to 3 or hope it goes down. Line looks slightly off to try and entice duke money, combined with slight revenge factor for Hansbrough.

I may just take UNC ML....whatever I play will be really small.

I have seen enough...

North Carolina -4 for 8* & 1st half -2 for 3*... Tar Heels roll 85-76 and take a 42-35 lead into the locker room at half.

UNC 7-1 ATS @ home and they will be fired up!:00hour

It makes me sick to say this but UNC should cover with or without Lawson, Duke is too small to contain Hansborough. Best bet is to send Henderson in to break his nose again.

F*CK UNC, but green is the best medicine for the blues.

I hate UNC, always have... but I really think they are the play. Even without Lawson they are too athletic. I think Duke is a very overrated team, #3!! It makes me laugh. On the road, I just don't believe they can keep it close. No one wants to lay the number, and it actually crept up today. NC is the play.

Did you see how he responded after he broke his nose last time? I wouldn't recommend...

Feeling really dumb right now as North Carolina looks terrible tonight. Game isn't over, but I hate my chances right now. 60-53 with 11:00 left.

COME ON HEELS... WAKE UP!!!

They are lucky to be how close they are.

Duke missing badly on a ton of shots.

Never looked at the stats. Just watching the 2nd half on TV and have seen Duke miss a lot of easy shots. But I see your Point of View on it.

And Yes I am drinking. :mj07:
