Coach K is having back surgery and will miss the next 4 weeks, asst HC Jeff Capel will take over the team. Rumor out there is this or next season will be it for Coach K as he tries to enjoy his retirement and he'll probably go to the ESPN game booth ala Dick Vitale and Jimmy V.

Jeff Capel's been a HC at Oklahoma among the 3 teams he's coached.

Probably be a repeat of when Kerr went out for GST.....didn't miss a beat. They'll probably play better to have coach K not stress :mj07:

Look for Bolden to get more minutes. Capel recruited most of these freshman and I think you will see more of an emphasis on the inside game and less on jacking up 3's.
As a Duke fan I am hoping for less pressure D and more zone. Duke does not have the guard play on defense to stick with pressuring the ball . Would like to see Giles, Jefferson and Tatum play together instead of seeing a 3 guard offense.
I think you can bet on Duke Wednesday to cover the spread at home versus Ga Tech.
I also predict Allen will sit out 2 more games and return for Louisville game.

He deliberated about and after his other 2 past warnings for team rules and the incident on TV last yr, Coach K said he would not tolerate Allen's behavior again, and the suspension has no time table and Coach Capel has been ordered not to lift it while Coach K is out!

Capel will certainly not lift it .K will make that decision. I just do not think he will
