No wonder we're falling behind other countries -

A 1997 study found that fewer than 20% of Americans possessed basic scientific literacy. We're right down there with Turkey.

I wonder where the scores are the lowest. Could it be the part of the country that believes in intelligent design and thinks climate change is a myth? They take the biggest handouts but always vote against their best interest?

The debate over evolution vs. creationism will never be settled but it is a shame that so many of today's Christians choose to overlook the fact that our founding fathers knew that religion should play no part in the governance of this nation.

The First Amendment reads "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ....", while Article VI specifies that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

The new state religion is environmentalism.

Anyway, speaking about the intelligence of the US....

The President of the US has to move his speech because of an NFL football game?

Says it all right there.

We shall reap what we have sown.

A majority of Americans are idiots.

A third-rate NASCAR driver gets more respect than the most competent and dedicated public servant.

Ask anyone at WalMart if they've ever heard of Tiger Woods or Jeff Gordon.:0074

Then ask them if they've ever heard of Paul Volker or Bob Gates.

Or, go to the mall and count the number of Dale Earnhardt T-shirts. The count the number of Steven Hawking and Warren Buffet T-shirts.

I rest my case.
