dvd camcorders

Anyone purchased one of these?

Thinking about buying a sony DVD camcorder for about $850.

The thing that I am not crazy about is that the blank DVD's (minis) are about $8 bucks a piece and they only hold 30 minutes worth of video on them. The good thing is that the mini DVD's do play in most dvd players.

instead of analog recording done digitally on dvd- also can record right off your tv on some models. works just like tape recorder accept it is on dvd.
