I am interested in buying some tv series dvds. There are asian dvds that the sellers claim to be as good as the US releases, the main difference being some foreign writing on the covers. Are there any other problems that should prevent me from buying the cheaper versions? I understand the region codes but most of the dvds are Region 0. Help would be much appeciated.

why buy when you can BURN!!!!
- Join netflix
- rent all the movies/tv shows you want
- get dvdshrink for decoding and compression (i can email this app to you if you need)
- voila!! you have your own and for a FRACTION of the price. without sacrificing audio or video quality.

As mentioned earlier, NetFlix or Blockbuster is the best way to go. You will recieve 3 movies/TV shows at a time. You'll be able to burn those and turn them around in 1-2 days. It doesn't take long to build up a nice little library of films.

Thank you for your replies. I don't own a computer(GASP - I use Webtv) and cannot burn the movies. It looks like I will take a shot with the asian versions.
