BOYS I HAVE BOUGHT 5 ITEMS ON E-BAY INCLUDING MY SPORTS PAGER.I HAVE A QUESTION E-BAY, E- MAILED ME AND SAID I WAS GOING TO BE SUSPENDED IF I DONT BUY THE GOLF CLUB I BID ON.THIS IS BULLSH-T I RECIEVED A NOTE SAYING SOMEBODY OUT BID ME ON THE CLUB.WHAT I THINK HAPPENED IS THE DEADBEAT WHO WAS TRYING TO SELL THE CLUB GOT A BETTER OFFER THAN MINE AND THEN THE DEAL MUST HAVE BEEN CANCELLED SO HE DECIDES TO TELL ME I WON THE BID.I TOLD THE GUY TO GO F-CK HIMSELF AND HE REPORTED ME TO E-BAY SAYING I OWE THE DOUGH AND I AM NOT DOING BUSINESS IN GOOD FAITH.BOYS I JUST MADE ANOTHER BID ON A CLUB I REALLY WANT AND NEED TO COMPLETE MY SET CAN E-BAY SUSPEND ME HAS ANYBODY EVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING.I KNOW THEY ARE PRETTY SERIOUS AT E-BAY BUT WHY SHOULD I LET THIS GUY PUSH ME AROUND.:thefinger WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAPPEN TO ME ITS LIKE PEOPLE THINK I HAVE (SUCKER WRITTEN ON MY FOREHEAD)

I dunno about the whole banning thing. The only thing is if you can still look at the items you bid on in the past, and if it says they outbid you, then save the page and send it to E-Bay customer service.

I would come in on it at the last minute just before bidding closes, because if you don't bid on it the price won't get jacked up if the other guys want it more.

your talking to a ebay junkie.

What you can do is a proxy bid for the most you are willing to pay for the item one day in advance . I dont like that last minute chit . I always get screwed.

The other option is to email the guy and make him a offer on the item to cancel his auction in advance and say item is lost. This way the seller will benefit by not haveing to pay all those ebay fees:thefinger .

If the item is brand new chances are the seller may have more than one item and could send you a second chance offer.

Look at the feedback on this guy first. I hate to wait to bid on items. I usually find some seller that had no offers on the item and than try to email him to sell me item off of ebay.

About the warning notice from ebay . Usually three or four or ten strikes they give you and your out. Its a scare tactic but dont worry all that happens is you get bad feedback and than respond with:thefinger . If you get kicked off ebay dont tell them you know me and simply reregister.

A little word of caution to you: Only buy items from sellers that are established with feedback and be sure to read all feedback carefully before you bid or buy any items. Tons of scams going on.

and to answer your question that is what probably happened and in order for the seller to get his listing refund:thefinger . He has to go through a process in which ebay sends you letters in scare you into buying the item so ebay dont have to refund this losers listing fee:thefinger

Its simple : If you bid on a item and win the auction then they expect you to close the deal. Now if you bid on the auction and lose by being outbidded and the buyer never comes through than the seller has to offer the item to the next highest bidder and so on. You do not have to accept the offer at this time and are not obligated. which is when you receive a second chance offer

please post the auction number. That will give us some more information. If you truly were not the high bidder, you don't owe for the auction. If they suspend you, just sign up again, that's what thousands of people do on that site anyway.

As I suggested, check the bid history..do what I said above and look under "my ebay" and "items i have won"

If you did not win the item, then you do nothing and nothing bad happens

If you won the auction, you can still refuse to pay...and you will get a negative feedback from the seller and ONE "non paying bidder" warning from ebay. If you get 3 non paying bidder alerts then you can get suspended--one NPB Warning will not hurt you.

Trust me on this, I am an ebay pro
