Niners are playing w/ some new faces on defense. Niners are just hungrier today.

Akers did have one unfortunate FG miss that hit a wall of wind.

watching philly try to stop the run is comical. doesnt matter who is taking the handoff, philly cant stop it. simply put, theyre gettin beat up front, and in their own house no less.

One observation: Erickson is not exactly the best at game management. The Niners have looked stooge-like twice in this second half:

1) They let the 3rd qtr run out when they were about to kick a FG. And it was a HUGE difference. They made it, but a more organized team kicks it with the wind.

2) They were unprepared for this upcoming two-point play. Had to shag the kicking team off the field, and they didn't have the play ready. Had to call timeout.

Guess that explains the incoming 0-7 road record.

chucky:

youre right, its teams like frisco and coaches like erickson who keep the "in-game football IQ" at its currently low level.

seriously, i always get a good laugh when grown men/coaches have to get the attention of the team with their index finger raised after the first score of the game (signaling, " hey, we're goin for 1 point to go up 7-0 !"). and that frequently re-surfaces throughout the game in obvious "kick the extra point" situations.

it amazes me that guys dont think a few plays ahead. thats an obvious "go for 2" situation for frisco. the 2-pt play should already have been discussed and a play ready once you get in the red zone for christsake.
