ISU-BOISE ST

ISU-BOISE ST

Given that ISU has looked horrible lately, I absolutely LOVE them getting 11.5 points from a Boise team that has beaten up on inferior comp. all year. The big line movement early is an overreaction to ISU's embarrassing loss to UConn in Ames a couple weeks ago. Boise is tough at home, and will score some points, but they have not seen an athlete like Wallace, whom the turf will benefit. ISU's schedule has been ridiculous this year, with games at OU, Texas, and against KSU and FSU at home/neutral sites. The Cyclones and Wallace have a lot to prove, and I see a high scoring game in which I would consider ISU on the moneyline.

Iowa State wins outright, hell, wins going away. Can't believe this line at all. No comparison at all between the Big-12 and the I-AA conference that Boise State plays in.
The moneyline will be a nice holiday gift from the linesmakers.....

Wallace and rain...

Wallace and rain...

Watch weather on that one...saw Seneca in a couple games with
moisture...he has small hands and could not gip or throw ball
with any confidence at all...if it is snow, which is likely that time of year in Boiseland, I don't know how it will affect him...GLTA

Iowa St. couldn't handle U Conn. at home. a few weeks ago. Don't see how they could get that much better since then.
Been on a downhill slide since mid season and may have quit. Wallace was tough ,but not lately.
Boise is very, very good on the blue rug.Made more$$$$$$$$ on them ,than any other team,Hard to go against.
Lay the 9.5

Iowa State beat Iowa a long, long time ago. Basically Iowa quit and let them back in. This team has been dragging their tails between their legs since Oklahoma destroyed them. I thought UConn +17 was the biggest overlay of the year.

The ISU Iowa Game was a long time ago which was a miricle they actually won the game. ISU's d wont be able to keep them in the game. I hammerd this one early as i expect alot will. Iowa St. last few games of the season havnt looked pretty. Boise covers at home somthing like 70% the last two seasons, very impressive. This could easily be a 28 point win for them. As i just dont see how there offense can be stopped in this game

Do not underestimate Boise State, no matter how you feel about their being in a weak conference. Boise State is for real and this year's team is something special. They are well balanced and will get you either rushing or passing the ball. Their "D" is better than average. But, most of all they are well coached and well disciplined. Add the home field factor and altitude, and you have yourself a winner.

Iowa St. vs. Boise St.

Iowa St. vs. Boise St.

Leaning towards Boise St. in the Humanitarian Bowl myself.

That blue turf and the weather can wreak havoc on visiting teams. Boise has TWO very capable QB's and the nation's scoring leader Brock Forsey. Iowa St. has an "O" that overly relies on playmaker Seneca Wallace (who had thrown 4 more INT's than TD's!).

Boise AVERAGES 46.6 PTS PER GAME and put up 58 vs. the WAC's #1 defense Hawaii. At home BSU has scored no fewer than 36 pts. All of their victories were decided with comfortable margins. In other words, when Boise wins they demolish their opponents. Only when they went to Fayetteville early in the season were they losers, humbled by Arkansas' running game (which amassed 217 yards). It also didn't help that BSU fumbled 6 times!

In their last 6 games BSU's defense has stepped up, giving up an average of 7 POINTS PER GAME! Meanwhile, ISU has sputtered down the stretch. In their last several games the Cyclones have ALLOWED 40 POINTS PER GAME, while their offense could only barely score over an avg of 18 points! With the exception of their tough road win over intrastate rival Iowa, ISU is winless on the road, losing by an average of 12-42!

In the end, a double digit spread might seem like a "gift" for dog players, given that both defenses have had trouble stopping their opponents. But BSU is playing at home--on the frozen blue tundra--and their defense has shown quite an improvement. To beat them you have to run the ball down their throats and keep Boise's offense off the field (like a Colorado or K-State in the Big 12). Iowa St. is middle of the pack rushing-wise in the Big 12, and Seneca Wallace accounts for 1/5 of their yardage on the ground. Meanwhile, Brock Forsey has as much rushing yards as the entire ISU team, minus Wallace.

I think what we have to consider here is that Iowa St., a middle of the pack Big 12 team, is playing AT Boise St., clearly the creme-de-la-creme of the WAC. And while the WAC isn't as "strong" as the Big 12 (no argument there), the way BSU has been handling their competition has been nothing short of impressive. I'll probably end up playing BSU as part of a teaser, just to be safe. If anyone's on ISU, I'd consider doing the same, too. GL. :)
