That Nebraska line vs. Okie State is a f'in joke. Lincoln is fast becoming a Big Red Morgue. You can hear old people screw in there it is so quiet. If you thought last year's Husker team sucked, this one will suck more. The defense will be improved, but they have an O-line featuring 3 players sporting 35% plus body fat, and a starting RB that runs a 4.83 40.

Also read an interesting article on the Vols recently. Last year's team was very selfish and it really showed in the Peach Bowl. They are trying to right the ship there again, and lots of seniors are really trying to step up. Doesn't hurt that they will have a vertical passing game again and that their running backs lost a lot of fat.

Marra- I am an alumni of ASU, but I graduated 2 years ago. I am friends with the new starting linebacker for the Ravens though. He wore 48 for ASU as the DE.

I have been pimpin ASU on this board for a long time now and there are no other ASU backers here, but there are a ton of u of a people here, shouldbe interesting to see who admits they are u of a fans this season

bgold:

I heard an awesome story from Jerry Punch during the bowl game vs Kansas State. Both teams came out of the tunnel as the game was about to start. One of the Kansas St players shouts at Suggs:

"Hey! #48! You're a stud!"

Suggs smiled, and he knew they were right. I loved hearing that story about an opponent giving someone a little respect. Suggs was a monster last year. I hope he does well in the pros.

GL to your Sun Devils. I think they need to find a pass rusher to be a 7-to-8 sack guy. Obviously, they can't replace #48.

thanks chucky: your right Suggs cant be replaced but hte defense is actually better this year. Ithink it is Athlons that ranks the best unit rankings and they rank ASU the 7th best secondary in the NCAA. So if someone can step up on the d-line (which they think jimmy verdon is going to do) the defense should be solid for once

the holiday bowl game is going to be played on classic on friday at 5 pacific if interested too

Nick Johnson (Suggs's replacement) is a little bigger than Suggs and is supposed to be just as fast. I am not saying that he is going to match the production of Suggs, but I am VERY interested to see how he will do.

We also have one of the highest recruits in the nation at the DEnd position in Kyle Caldwell. Koetter said he may see some PT...

The secondary should be one of the best in the land with a ton of returning players with experience. One of the JUCO recruits, Chris McKenzie, had the fastest 40 time out of any recruit...something like 4.18 or something rediculous. Lamar Baker and Franklin are both starters that missed all of 2002 with injuries and will be full strength come the season. R.J Oliver and Shivers are All PAC 10 candidates.

Marra there is no question the secondary is one of the best in the nation. ( if you ask anyone not familiar with asu they would guess that ASU has one of the worst secondaries)

I am worried about hte DLINE- Johnson a full year of expierience now should help but Verdon is hte real deal on the line. Linebackers are all new with the exception of one player. I thnk teams will be able to run on asu but thats about it. I f all goes the way it should this team could be in new orleans, but then again asu always underachieves... heres to great year
