I can tell you right now South Carolina has no chance against Arkansas, the only play you need this week is Auburn as they will absolutely maul Miss.

King - I couldn't agree more. That's one I circled right away. I think Auburn takes care of business.

Other early leans

Bowling Green +6.5
Miami -12.5 (I think Miami comes out pissed off and beats up on the Vols)
Pitt +3.5
Houston +4.5

Baltimore Buc, Ole Miss has no chance vs Auburn, the Plains will be rocking for this game, I can't see the Rebs scoring more than 10 points in this game.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Eastern Michigan fired football coach Jeff Woodruff on Monday, two days after the Eagles fell to 1-8 with a 38-10 loss to Central Michigan.
Woodruff had a 9-34 record in four seasons. He was replaced on an interim basis by running backs coach Al Lavan.

Woodruff became the latest Division I-A coach fired this season. Others dismissed were Carl Franks at Duke, Todd Berry at Army and John Mackovic at Arizona.

The Gold Sheet
South Carolina at ARKANSAS (Thursday night)...Arkansas has covered 4 of past
5 in series, including 23-0 whitewash in Columbia LY. Hog "D" limited USC
attack to mere 233 total yds. in contest.

Utah State at NEW MEXICO STATE (Thursday night)....Utah State has held upper
hand in this series lately, covering 6 of past 7, including upsets in 4 of
those (DNP in '01). NMS just 1-8 as home chalk since '01.

Army at AIR FORCE...AF has controlled series with this fellow service
academy, garnering last 6 (5-1 vs. number). Falcons surprised Army "D" by
using a variety of sets (including I-Formation) in 49-30 romp LY at West
Point. AF rolled up 380 yds. in 65 totes.

Kent State at OHIO...Kent State has circled this one in red following
horrific 50-0 blowout vs. instate rival Ohio LY (Golden Flashes worst MAC
defeat since 56-0 loss vs. Miami-Ohio in '98). Kent State QB Cribbs eager
to make amends after completing just 5 of 14 with 3 "picks."

Virginia Tech at PITTSBURGH...Pitt has been nemesis for VT lately, as
Panthers have covered 6 of past 7, including big upsets last 2Ys (Pitt
posted 19 & 11-point dogs). Panther QB Rutherford (accounted for 264 yds.)
hooked up with star WR Fitzgerald for 3 TDP in 28-21 shocker in Blacksburg
LY.

Smu at LOUISIANA TECH...La. Tech (13-point chalk) chomping at bit for
rematch following stunning 37-34 upset vs. SMU LY. Mustangs are a frigid
4-14 vs. spread last 18 contests.

West Virginia at BOSTON COLLEGE...Home field has made big difference in this
series, with host easily winning and covering last 6. WV led 24-7 in
Morgantown until BC scored "gimme" TD with just 39 secs. remaining in 24-14
victory LY.

Florida State at CLEMSON...Bobby has been all business vs. son Tommy L 3Ys,
winning and covering all 3 meetings. FSU outmuscled Clemson up front LY,
outrushing Tigers 272-107 in eventual 48-31 win. 'Noles sr. star RB Greg
Jones (22-165, 3 TDs; hails from Beaufort, S.C.), who had strong outing year
ago, jazzed-up for his final appearance in his home state.

Missouri at COLORADO...Bowl-bound Mizzou on mission to end frustrating
4-game losing streak vs. CU. (2 of those losses in OT!).

Kansas State at IOWA STATE...KSU has destroyed ISU in last 3 meetings (3
easy covers), wining by avg. 51-6 margin. Collapsing Cyclones just 1-11 vs.
spread last 12 on board.

Iowa at PURDUE...Purdue jacked-up here. Boilermakers outgained Iowa 507-384
despite being forced to go with backup QB Kirsch for most of 2nd H after
starter Orton suffered injury early in 3rd Q in eventual 31-28 loss at Iowa
City LY. Hawkeyes scored TDs on 85-yd blocked FG return and blocked punt in
end zone. Orton (hails from Altoona, Iowa) has extra motivation for this
matchup.

Temple at SYRACUSE...'Cuse in major revenge game after suffering 1st series
loss since '83 in 17-16 upset loss LY. Orange scored potential-tying TD
with 30 ticks remaining, but the attempted PAT bounced off upright.

San Diego State at UNLV...UNLV just 2-6-1 vs. number last 9 vs. MWC foes,
which includes 31-21 defeat at SDS LY. Aztec QB Hall connected on 28 of 45
for 310 yds. & 2 TDs in 10-pt. victory. Rebels just 6-9 SU in unimposing
Sam Boyd Stadium last 2+Ys.

I can definitely see Auburn mauling Ole Miss in this contest, but I'm not sure I'd bet on ANY team in America holding Ole Miss to 10 points. Just my humble, biased opinion.

Just a comment:

Auburn don't have much of a offensive passing.
They do have several running backs that are above average that will chew that clock up.

Ole Miss has a good offense, we all agree on that point.
But you must have time pass the ball and that's where Auburn will attack and will dominate the game. Think about the under as a possible play. I think Eli is gone to see alot grass this weekend.

I watched the game over the weekend and South Carolina has similiar characteristics to Auburn.

What really bothers me is Ole Miss died in the 4th quarter on both sides of the ball and gave up the cover and almost lost the game. Not a good sign of a good football team. On the road

Coach Tubby just loves sticking up Ole Miss's poop-shooter

Just my observation....I Auburn will blow them out!

However i'll pass to an easier game to play.

you were right, bgsu/miami game opened at 64 for the total. i honestly thought it would open lower as a result of the bgsu and miami scoring defenses being fairly respectable. clearly vegas not offering a gimmie on this one as far as the total goes. they expect both harris and roethlisberger to trade shots all game. lots of points, but wouldnt at all surprise me to see a 37-34 game

South Carolina...yes.......and yes.....
7 overtimes will setback any team back....5 days to prep the players isn't enough time to re-motivate.

There are stats on teams who've going into OT 3 times or more ..don't know how or where to access but it's out there!
Maybe you can find..i read years ago on this stat and it's very high probability that the team will not cover or win. fwiw

I show BG winning this game s/u by 6..i'm on it.

also on TCU and Utah st.

if the line stays around 7/8 i might lay a small amount on Auburn.

another opinion....will not back Tennessee..was watching the game with Duke,,,Miami will kill'em on the run game ...even without Frank Gore...Tennesse defensive secondry couldn't stop a Red Wing wagon. another game where a team will dominate the game with the running backs.fwiw...you have anything on UCF over eastern michigan...comes up strong!

I've got 15 games i'm working on and narrowing down to 5/7 at most...have a couple that fits Don't laugh...but i'm leary with the two i have..will get with you latter when i decide..then you can give me an opinion.

Taking an early look...Huge play early

Utah St. -1 vs. New Mexico St.

Have this game capped at -7.5. Utah St. has been undervalued the last two weeks and have put up strong numbers on offense. They faced early tough competition in Nebraska, Az. St., and a tough New Mexico team. Dombrowski, the New Mexico St. QB is injured, hurt his knee last week against Arkansas St. if he plays he is going to favor his knee and rushing should drop a little.

Again Utah St. 3 Units (**This line will go to -5 by Saturday)

Gman,

I think this game very easily could top 64 points, when you combine two solid QB's and a national tv game usually the scores explode. I am also currently leaning towards your side on BGSU, I have watched them play three times this year and Harris is amazing, but I am a little gun shy of going against Big Ben for any large amount.

Joe,

I will try to find that stat on OT and post it here.

Big Nick,

You and Joe stole some of my thunder, was looking at Utah State as a big play on Thurs, I usually suck in this conf but have hit three straight in the conf lately. My early numbers show that the Aggies should be a double digit favorite line is completely off.

Get5onit
Still have not made up my mind on Lou and TCU since the line came out late, but you can never count the Cards out as they seem to rise to the occasion, but TCU has been a bitch at home.
