What is up with this team?

Last week, they lost to Div1 AA Western Illinois, 34-12.

They were held to 4 field goals and this game was never, ever close.

E Mich +19' travels to AKRON this week.

I realize Akron -12' lost outright to KENT, 41-38 in their home opener. But last week, Akron +24' gave MICH STATE all they could handle. They lost 48-31, but believe me, this final score is very misleading. Down 34-31 with 6 minutes left in the game, the Zips had the ball 4th and 1 on the WISKY 1 yd line. They couldn't punch it in and on the next play, Sorgi hit Lee Evans with a 99 yd scoring strike.

I'm half tempted to take AKRON -19'.

Western Illinois is a GREAT team. #1 in I-AA and I know they could beat some teams in D-1 no doubt

Ive always said to drop UCF and Buffalo to bring up Youngstown St and Western Illinois...those guys can ball

Omar,

Emich also struggled with E Tenn State in week 1. Got the win in the 4th quarter, 28-21.

I'm liking AKRON-19' over E Mich more and more.

1. EMU has owned this series ATS
2. Akron's Defense is absolutely brutal
3, Frey will put ton;s of points up on EMU
4. Akron brought in Butch Reynolds yesterday and the former gold medal winner gave the team a speech on closing out a victory.
5. Personally, I would pass the sides in this game and see if you can find a total these teams may score over 100 points.

Go Zips!!

What they need to do is bring in Jason Taylor and Dwight Smith and teach them how to play defense

Great point! According to northcoast sports they would have had W. ILL as a 10 pt favorite in this game.

Brings tears to my eyes as I think about that inspirational speech and how the emotionaly fired up Zips get excited about playing the mighty Eastern Michigan Eagles,a team that made NCAA football history in 2002,by fielding one of the worst defenses ever, allowing 519.9 yards per game,556 points, and 6,239 yards.

And that pathetic team, with only 2 ats wins last year, beat the team they're playing this Saturday, 42-34 as an 11' pt. home pup...for their only SU win of the season.

The mood of the Zips still is fairly good despite the two tough losses. Charlie is a bit banged up but should be fine for the EMU game.

Zips roll, 62- 20
