Ahhh the P51 !

What a BAD ASS FIGHTER SHE WAS !

I have a question for you, check email for you, check email in about 10-15 mins :toast:

You might get a kick out of Uncle Roger. He was a smart-ass little punk, but loved that airplane. He once told me the worst day of his life was the day he returned from his 50th mission and the Air Corps made him give the plane back.

He never flew again.

Aunt Lucy, who is still alive and well recently told me that. She said that she'd asked him why he didn't rent or buy a little airplane and fly.

He told her that he'd be damned if he was going to putter along at 90 mph in a Piper Cub after having 1400 HP and near 400 mph under his butt.

Not to mention six .50 Brownings.

My email is temporarily down. I'll get back to you.

I got another one to add to the list. Quit giving people big refunds back every year because they have children. I'm a single guy getting my ass jammed in taxes and people are getting back 3 - 5 grand yearly cause they have kids! Cut this shit out and would be doing great. Why should I pay more and you less when I'm supporting your children to go to school. Hell people with kids should have to pay more! People focusing on the government giving a hand out to a 18 year old with a seizure disorder instead of worrying about the people who get all there federal taxes back. You have children, too fucking bad, you pay as much as me! I rather have my money go to the low income people and get screwed over by a few dead beats knowing im helping out some who need it then take it in the ass from some family making 80 grand laughing to the bank in february

I agree. Having children is a choice, and there's no reason for it to be subsidized. The "quiverfull" crowd should shoulder the burden for their 13 kids.

Long ago, it made some sense when we could use a larger population, and when children were expected to care for their parents in old age. Now those things are not as necessary.

It's probably no longer a good idea to allow mortgage interest deductions either. Today one can get very low interest loans in order to afford to buy a house, and many of us are living in houses much larger than we need simply because the tax benefit make is easy to do so.

However we do need to raise enough revenue to provide a decent 12 year education for everyone. We all benefit from an educated population, whether the physician who treats us, or the engineer who designs our roads and aircraft is our own child or someone elses.

Military spending could be cut by half and still leave us with the most powerful military on earth, but there's no reason a healthy 37 year old should be able to retire from the military and collect a pension for the rest of his life.

Totally agree, Duff.

Any new enlistees or any new federal, state or muni employee should be allowed to enroll in a 401k program - at least this way, we know it is funded.

IMO, there is one choice this November.

I've taken a cursory look at Gary Johnson, but there's really no decision to make about him since he won't be on the ballot.

However, perhaps we can agree that some things are, properly, done by the government. National defense, of course, along with rural electrification, universal education, food and drug safety, safe water and air, interstate commercial and roads...and, because it is something we all need and cannot fairly bargain for as individuals, health care.

Enroll new g'mint employees in mandatory 401Ks? Works for me. However, it galls to think that governments can hire employees on the basis of freely negotiated conditions and then later use an "eminent domain" type excuse to renege. That's a) chickenshit, and b) legally and morally indefensible.

The government official who says: "Well, duh, we didn't fund our voluntarily accepted and known obligations." should be burned at the stake.

The LP will be on the ballot in all 50 states.

Do yourself, the country and future generations a favor by voting for him...Gary Johnson.

Take a look at the record...fiscally conservative and a "to each his own" on social issues....just like the country other than the fringe who always are the ones yelling the loudest and with the full support of national media.

If he's on the ballot here, I'll vote for him. Not my ideal candidate, but at least a thoughtful and apparently honest man.

Yes - I think he will be on the ballot.

If he can garner 2% of the vote in 2012, he will qualify for federal election $ ($90 million) for 2016.

Duff - Europe is BAD and news not talking about it.

I took out CRAZY insurance. Bought FAZ.
In March 2008, FAZ was over $5000 per share.
Right now, around $25.

I bought $2500 worth. Shit hits the fan again, be worth a lot ( if there is anyone around still to pay on it - lol)

I will most likely be voting for Johnson. I've voted for the Libertarian candidate every presidential election since I turned 18. :0074

What state are you in Duff?

He has to poll at 15% to get into the debates...just another example of the corrupt system designed to maintain the status quo.
