I know Im late onto the wave, but have access to a bunch of decent tickets to various things, and was wondering a couple of things about ebay

1) do they enforce the scalping laws, are there ways around it?
2) are most people easy and honest to deal with
3) if you have good tickets for premium things, not the super bowl, but just good matchups in any sport, will they generally be profitable to see
4) any advice about selling fees, how long to list things, shipping issues, and how close to the game to list the tickets

vague questions, but whatever insight or personal stories one can give me I'd appreciate, lol welcome to 2004 I guess, have always been too lazy to look at ebay but only hear great things, have fun all @the super bowl party I hope to be there next yr

happy new year,
Mike

1. Your local state laws are enforced via the EBAY agreement, there are ways around everything;)

2. Most people are very easy to deal with, check their feedback and only deal with people who have had several transactions.

3. I see people selling tickets to all kinds of events all the time and getting numerous bids.

4. Several options here, read their sellers page and see what fits you best, I would say the earlier you sell the tickets the better, especially if the event is already sold out.

Good Luck

I have sold and bought tickets on ebay well over face value. I got around it, as others do, by selling something like this like say you have two Yankees tickets to sell.

"Selling one brand new white envelope. This is a great brand new envelope right out of the box! As a reward for buying this envelope, I will include these two Yankee tickets."

been selling my Dolphins tickets for years

been selling my Dolphins tickets for years

It's really simple...My only advice is if they are not picking up the tickets locally and paying you cash do this...go to fedex.com open up an account with your credit card and they send you a welcome kit and give you an online setup. Then once the tickets are sold you ship them ONLY FED-EX COD at the buyers cost. It is SAFE and SECURE and once the tickets are sent say overnight or 2day fed-ex then delivers the payment whether it be money order-cashiers check to you within 2 days. As far as ACE's comments I agree there are ways around your local scalping laws. If you have tickets for a football game or event beware if you sell them early and it becomes a HOT EVENT...For instance ! The last game of the year here in Miami ! Dolphins were out of the playoffs :( and Jets fans considered it their Super Bowl. Held those tickets till week of the game and got 5x face value. Best Of Luck !

great stuff guys, thanks and keep it coming. ace, I thought thats what you do, guess that works well and seems easy. HR, for football and time-sensitive events, I wonder if it is beneficial to list it close to game time, or way in advance, but it's a gamble. If the game becomes hot, you cost yourself money by selling early, and if you hold and it is a worthless game you're screwed. Do you guys use reserve bid's, start it at face so make you get that, or what's the way to go in that regard, and how long is it usually good to list them for, and if you have to relist, I read the sellers fees do not seem too bad. Thanks for the info, is appreciated anyone can always come to general forum and get answers, is a nice feeling
