just won a new tv still in box...throygh ebay...no shipping..just pickup...they prefer cash..will take paypal...

for i not to get scammed..will ask to see if tv is working...
not to get scammed in this deal,,any opions on what to do...should i pay paypal. so there is paper trail

Anyway,if it is pickup...why would you pay paypal?
Go to pick it up...check it out....if all is ok,pay the guy cash. Seems simple enough to me.

I think he means that he won the bidding auction on Ebay for the TV. The Ebay lister probably put no shipping as one of the sales conditions, which is why he has to pick it up. Bases can pay for it online using paypal or meet the seller and pay cash. Bases would probably get better fraud protection by paying for the tv through Ebay using Paypal. At least that's what I deciphered out of this thread. :mj14:

SONY Bravia 26" LCD TV KLV-S26A10 Flat Panel HDTV
is what i puchased on ebay...for 1600 canadian
at the store which i priced at sony and at future shop is
2000 plus tax its 2300
so i saved 700 dollars
- but now after thinking about it..could the sony tv be refurbished...will be checking it out at the guys place in a couple of days,,as he mentioned still sealed and brand new in the box..just dont want to get scammed...was thinking if he would let me take it to a sony dealer to see if legit..

pretty new model, isnt it? been out less than a year? would still have original Sony warranty on it, and if it had had been sent in due to original defect, it would probably have been sent straght to sony for refurbishment. Get the serial number andcheck with Sony to see if it has been refurbished, they would keep the records because with most "refurbished" equipment, it would start a new warranty upon re-release.
