uncg -6: took a chance on the pirates last time on the road catching points against a very young richmond club, but now see a nice spot to start fading the pirates away from greenville. ecu has traditionally struggled on the road and last game fit their classic pattern - playing a solid first half and then folding in the last ten or fifteen minutes. now pirates pla their second road game of the week off the ot loss to the spiders, and face a 0-3 spartan team in their home opener. uncg has opened with three tough road outings but is a solid soco team returning four starters, and was a consensus preseason pick to win the southern conference north division. ecu's road woes are usually about poor shooting, and the spartans defend well, especially outside the arc.

pirates have been winless on the road for a year now, and the spartans have won 28 of their last 29 nonconference home games. basicly the same teams played in greenville last year, with uncg taking an eight point win.
