You know....if you are going to have a school name the Court after you (after you got a second chance when you were such a cheater you should have been banned for life) is it really appropriate to go coach somewhere else?

Kind of like Lute Olsen....the Court gets named after your wife and you turn right around and remarry? If the marriage had worked out would they rename the Court for both of them?

This court-naming thing has gone way too far.

It's a typical cowpoke situation, all thugs, drunks, or otherwise lawfully inept persons, come to our school we'll be glad to give you a second or third chance as long as you help our athletic program out (ie. Eddie Sutton, JamesOn Curry, Prentice Elliot, Adarius Bowman, etc.) We'll even praise you. When is the day going to come that someone calls them on this. I know we are a forgiving society but this is ridiculous.

Give Eddie a break. Anyone who is paying any attention knows that he isn't really coaching at San Fran; he's just sitting there hoping they win two more games this season.

Sun.

Agree with you on Eddie Sutton, but you are way off base saying that about Lute Olsen. That is total BS.

The guy is a class act and wants a companion for the rest of his life. WTF is wrong with that? Not like he cheated on his wife:shrug:

You are way off on both of your post man you have to feel stupid for even making a topic like this I would think. Eddie Sutton is on of the greatest coaches all time right there along with Olsen so I really have no idea why you would even dream of something like this kinda stupid man...

Such a bitter person. You know I can not let you slide with those comments.

Granted he should not be coaching again. It is sad but none the less if they want to name a court after him so be it. It will probably be covered up and named Tboone before long anyway.

Sun Tzu,

I have to agree with your comments about Sutton. Does anyone besides himself care if he gets 800 wins:shrug: Also, to coach @ San Francisco and get another coach fired during the season is downright pathetic. How is Sutton going to recruit when he's gone after he gets win #800? I talked to one of my friends who played for Sutton and he admits it's kind of pathetic.

Sutton took over a program that is known for having Bill Russell lead them to a couple NCAA titles 50 years ago. He could care less about San Francisco and didn't want his lasting legacy to be a DUI. Sutton is lucky to have the court named after him as well. His lasting legacy isn't much better getting another coach canned now, getting busted at Kentucky giving a recruit thousands of dollars and getting fired, a DUI, etc.

Sure he was a good coach, but his baggage is quite heavy! Nice west coast PR stunt by San Francisco University.

By the way, how many titles did Eddie Sutton win? Oh yeah, zero!

Doug Gottleib was on the radio today and he even thought it was a little pathetic that he's coaching San Francisco for the primary reason to get win #800.

I do admire Eddie for admitting his mistakes, primarily I'm talking about his DUI. However, he still denies giving money to Chris Mills which is a bunch of crap. How many coaches get caught giving a recruit a suitcase full of cash (I believe they tried to say it was $1K he gave Chris Mills, but other sources have said it was $5 or $10K:scared ), he had Kentucky placed on serious probation, and then he luckily got another chance at Oklahoma State where they named the court after him. Yep, I would be very proud to have my court named after such a wonderful person.
