Yeah, and people get pissed about it when it's done by the other guys president. That's at best short-sighted and at worst.. stupid.

Hey, the guys I vote for never win, so once in a while when something I believe finally starts to get some mainstream support I gotta get my rocks off by saying "told you so".

It's all I've got

Right behind you
Whiners, whiners everywhere whenever a politician considers even touching the 2nd amendment.

Where are those whiners when the government tears the 4th amendment to shreds?

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Where are the warrants? There are none, Bush or Obama.

And that's just fine with politicians from both parties.

As Bush said: "The Constitution? It's just a Goddamn piece of paper."

Apparently Obama and a majority of the congress and voters agree.

I'm moving to France. Or Sweden. Or Canada.

You folks can stay here where politicians get elected on *important* issues like gay rights and legal marijuana and abortion. Talk about fucking with people's privacy......

You have to be a narcissistic fuck to think the government gives a fuck about you. People are so fucking stupid.

Yea they don't give a fuck about you but they will still be collecting any and all forms of communication (yours as well) for super computers to sift through. It appears nothing is private any more. Duff is right. Its bullshit.

Bush: The Constitution a ?Goddamned Piece of Paper??

Posted on December 12, 2007 , Updated on Feb. 21, 2011

Q: Did President Bush call the Constitution a "goddamned piece of paper"?

A: Extremely unlikely. The Web site that reported those words has a history of quoting phony sources and retracting bogus stories.

FULL QUESTION

Is it true that President Bush called the Constitution a "goddamned piece of paper?" He has never denied it, and it appears that there were several witnesses.

FULL ANSWER

The report that Bush "screamed" those words at Republican congressional leaders in November 2005 is unsubstantiated, to put it charitably.

We judge that the odds that the report is accurate hover near zero. It comes from Capitol Hill Blue, a Web site that has a history of relying on phony sources, retracting stories and apologizing to its readers.

Update, Feb. 21, 2011: The author of the Capitol Hill Blue story has now withdrawn it. Doug Thompson messaged us to say:

Doug Thompson: This is to let you know that the piece on Bush and the Constitution has been changed and reads:

"This article was based on sources that we thought, at the time, were reliable. We have since discovered reasons to doubt their veracity. For that reason, this article has been removed from our database."

I no longer stand behind that article or its conclusions and have said so in answers to several recent queries. In addition, I have asked that it be removed from a documentary film.

Thompson elaborated on what led him to retract his story in an item posted on his website Jan. 1, 2011. He also noted that an earlier article, in which he had referred to Bush as a "madman," has been removed from the site entirely.

I agree with him in regards to people voting for candidates that support "emotional, private" issues rather than looking at the aspect of these politicians trampling on our constitution

Duff is correct.

You guys are bashing each other's heads in over which party did it and when it is ok.

It is NEVER ok.

Benjamin Franklin:

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

At some point, I am hopeful that the American people will recognize this for what it is and rise up and put a stop to fascism here. 300M Americans vs a very small # of the ruling elite.

I will not hold my breath and I, too, am looking for better places to call home.

Yup. The problem is, fascism seems to be gaining momentum worldwide. YIKES!

Peace! :)

My apologies, ssd. Your are correct, there are indeed a few Fascists in our country. Unfortunately, unlike the KKK, some of them are in positions of high authority.

See you in France, Iceland, New Zealand or Italy.

The food sucks in NZ, but everything else is okay. The food's great in IT and FR, and the women are gorgeous...you just have to learn to live with the local customs.

Iceland is dull, expensive and bad food, but has a no-bullshit personal freedom policy.

All of them have fewer mouth-breathers than the USA.

Or....we could simply move to Vermont, get rid of our internet and cell phones, milk goats, make cheese, heat our homes with wood, shop nowhere but LL Bean, and pretend we have nothing to do with the USA. Works for most of them.
