we played at Lakeshore in Durham...not a bad course....Have played Finley...like the Old version better...Wildewood Greens is the closest course to me and I like it, but a tad too tight off the tees for my likingwolfpacker97 said:Where you playing?
I used to play RGA, Wild Wood, Lochmere, Eagle's Nest, Pine Hollow (think that was the name). Played a couple near Durham and Chapel Hill. There was a nine hole course near Chapel Hill that had the best greens I had ever played on for a lower class course. They were like a pool table. It blew my mind that the greens were this great.
Have you played Finley since they redone it? I had to play it in High School for the State Golf Championship and those greens sucked! Course was fun. Also, my high school coach played for UNC. He was most outstanding player in 1971 (I think that was the year). He wears the watch every day that was giving to him for that honor. My best friend and I qualified for the State Tournament when we were Seniors Individually. When we were playing our practice round, my coach would inform us were Davis Love use to hit the play. That was pretty neat. The funny thing was we had this other kid playing with us who hit past where Davis had hit it years before. It was a great experience.
As for your play. Looks good! There should be no more "Roll Tide Roll!"
Lakeshore has a big lake that you drive range balls into it...Devils Ridge and Crooked Creek are the best 2 around here IMO...Lochmere is good, but hate going to the other side of Cary to play there...never played the Neuse....wolfpacker97 said:Toy,
I graduated Fall of 97. One semester when I was in school probably around Spring 94, I worked at WildWood. Listen to this. I worked on the Driving Range giving out buckets of balls on Saturday for 6/8 hours. I did not get paid with money. I was able to play WildWood, Lochmere, Devils Ridge (never did play it) and The Nuese (spelling bad) for free because they were all connected someway. I would have friends come in from out of town and they would get to play for free also. It was pretty sweet deal.
I think I have played Lake Shore, is that were the driving range is a pond with Island greens? If it is, that was a fun course to play. Hell, we had a lot of fun at the range.
