well, so far i've bucked my personal trend, and i'm keeping my head above water in the second weekend of the tournament. barely, but i ain't drowning, dammit. :)

only playing 50% of the games today...

ucla (+2) 2 units. absolutely love the bruins here. same reasoning as why i loved the salukis on thursday. if you want to beat this jayhawk team, get 'em in a halfcourt game. it's pretty damn near that simple. the salukis should have won that game. never mind the missed putback late in the game. how 'bout when the refs allowed the dunk in the first half that was after the shot clock expired? and when they gave ku possession on the shot clock violation when the ball hit the rim (and southern ill got the rebound)? anyways, before i get too far off topic... ucla plays some pretty damn good defense themselves. they will slow the pace and wear out the jayhawks mentally, as much as physically. plus the bruins have one thing the salukis didn't have... aaron afflalo. even in a shooting slump, he is a heck of a ball player.

strong lean to memphis. i still cannot figure out how they beat the aggies. but i also have to believe the buckeyes have used up their 9th life.

don't like either game nearly as much as i loved the bruins yesterday, but i'm an action junkie....

georgetown (+4) 1 unit. just like the overall team play of the hoyas. they'll make the young pups on nc guard them for 25-30 seconds. sure, i can see nc blowing them out, but georgetown has made me a lot of money this year; might as well ride 'em one more game.

florida (-7) 1 unit. if oregon keeps shooting lights out, they can win this whole thing. but they have ZERO offense in the paint. that always comes back to bite teams. florida, well they bring the whole package, and they've shaken off the mini-slump they went through late in the season. i think reality sets in on the ducks today. oddly enough, my biggest concern is history. i believe it's been 8 straight years that there have been 2 teams from the same conference in the final 4. and they only way that's gonna happen this year is if oregon wins today. well, no 12-seed beat a 5-seed this year, so maybe this trend will also come to an end.
