ETP looks good, yields close to 6%, earnings seem to be going in positive direction

07 2.80/share 08/3.20

like the pipeline and natural gas storage business. hate the propane business. though. not sure how the business is in the US but in Canada it is declining.

may add it on weakness....if I get the chance.

thanks

Don't know a bunch about the company other than family member is trader for their NG team.

The pipeline/transportation/storage business is a solid business. ETP has been growing quickly/ acquiring companies like Houston Pipeline (HPL) as they want to establish themselves in this business. ETP started this company by acquiring these assets at what today would be pennies on the dollar because the industry at the time they entered had a bad stigma about it. I also know they run a small but effective shop trading around their texas assets. FERC has an ongoing investigation stemming from allegations of price manipulation at the Houston Hub.

Will look into some financials for the company.

I hope you got into this stock when you asked about it. It is up 9.7% to 57.25 since January 26. I got in when I started my portfolio in October at around $46 :00hour. Up over 46% in ttm. I see it continuing the rest of the year, lets see.

This really is a good solid company. They have a conservative growth philosophy through acquisitions. After working this summer scheduling gas to flow through pipelines, I have grown to like the midstream pipelines, because they are making their fees regardless of NG prices. They also have solid traders who trade around their assets. I know for sure they have a good NG team and storage trader.

Wow just took a look at their F P/E, and it was really high at 21.26. Just quick mulitple analysis, they are saying price will be up around the $65-67 range. Multiple analysis is far from accurate by itself, but it may be a good starting point. I am going to pull up some more multiples off Bloomberg and other resources at school. If I get time I may put together a DCF if anyone is interested. I could use it for a school portfolio anyway.
