george mason, george mason, george mason, george mason, lsu, george mason, george mason, george mason, big baby, george mason, george mason, george mason, lsu, george mason, george mason, george mason, cinderella, george mason

it's thursday and i'm sick of it already

on the principle of going against the mainstream talking heads who are always a day late and a dollar short on teams, it might be time to unload on fla and ucla (the better teams anyway)

do you think for one minute that ucla could have beaten mich state, unc and uconn without playing in the friendly confines of california? could they have beaten duke and texas in atlanta? no. don't kid yourself that the pac ten is a force just yet. but even i will admit they are improving

do you think duke would make the sweet 16 9 straight years if they had to play outside the state of north carolina in any of those 18 first and second round games?

what the point?

my point is to go the complete opposite of the mainstream media hype machine in any sport.......they always jump on a story/team just in time for that team/story to end

this week who would guess there are TWO games being played and who would guess that fla and ucla are even there........just solidifies my bets

ucla plays 2 games in san diego and then 2 games in oakland in a very weak western regional. i am sure cbs and the seeding committee wanted and got a western representative in final 4. please find me an example where unc or duke played 4 games in north carolina to go to final four. last i checked ucla wasn't even a number one seed to get this favorable draw. there is a huge difference in a number 1 seed playing 2 games close to home versus a number 2 seed getting to play 4 straight games in their own state.

GJN23-I agree with your reasoning about the media glare and going the opposite way.Florida and Ucla will advance. When it goes flat for Geo mason,(sometime in the 2nd half) it'll go really flat for a streach and they'll be out of it.Show the Uclans winning by a handful. We don't have long to wait to find out.

i like george mason and their team

but if they can fall behind by dd to unc and conn they can fall behind by dd to fla.....eventually they wont be able to come back....they also wont have a major home court adv (although most will be rooting for them, they wont be die hards like in dc last weekend).....i also think that playing in a dome for the first time might get them off to a slow start....fla has an advantage there having played plenty of games in a dome this year.......throw in fla playing very well right now and being bigger, more athletic and more talented and i think they eventually win by dd

BAD GEOGRAPHY

freelancc-Alaska is more than 60% of the entire United states Coastline,so damn sure California isnt 2/3 of anything coastline wise.

stick to what you know... ucla was a #2 seed coming from the west and got to stay in the west... they can beat any team in the a.c.c. and you know it. so if you wanna argue, do so but don't knock a team that is a conference champion, conference tournament champ and has had every scholarship player miss a game because of injury.
i think duke had the same set-up too and north carolina had it last year.

don't see where i am knocking ucla. i just said to please find me an example of unc or duke getting to play 4 games in north carolina to go to the final four. it was not fair to the number one seed, memphis, to have to play the number 2 seed in its home state. same thing happened in the womens tourney but the duke women did beat uconn in conn. i know you are excited to have ucla back in the final four and they deserve to be there since they took care of business. but don't be so naive to think that it wasn't a huge advantage to stay in california for 2 weeks. i don't care how big the state is . never been there and don't have any immediate plans for a trip. i do however know la is closer to oakland than memphis

still waiting for your odomoter reading of la-oakland vs durham-atlanta

since ucla got all the benefit of "playing in the same state"....i guess duke did too......but wait, they lost.....again.

good luck next year in rounds 1 and 2 in winston salem.....bet that's a really long trip for the dookies
