You obviously haven't seen enough of Detmer then. This statement is just ridiculous.

As for the claims that he is not in the top 15, I'd love to see the list of QB's that are better. Call me a homer, this is how I see it.

Brady
Manning
Palmer
Favre
McNabb
Green
Delhomme
Culpepper
Bulger
Hasselbeck
McNair (would be much higher two years ago, injuries taking major toll)
Vick
Collins
Brees
Plummer
Rothelisberger
Manning
Leftwich
Bledsoe
Brunell
Brooks
Carr
Losman
Dilfer
Ferotte
Simms
Orton
Boller
McNown
Whoever the Niners roll out there

Obviously these spots can be argued by a few, but I really do not think McNabb falls out of the top ten on anyones list. As for top 15 I'd love to see those rankings.

mcnaab threw basically the same int two weeks in a row that cost his team 2 games. this is terrible and inexcusable. no good reason for either throw.

however, reid must take the blame as well due to his bs play calling. i absolutely abhor field goals anyway - unless you are playing the old afc central. :s4:

anyway, mcnaab is still a good qb - not great, but definitely above average. he is hurt and can only do so much. his play this year has been a bit erratic, but finding 5 better qb's would be tough. hell, favre has thrown more int's than mcnaab this year...

btw, he can come to oaktown if philly doesn't want him. i'll trade that flat -foot,errant,f'n collins any day of the week. :cursin:

Agree 100000000000000% on collins. I stated in another thread how does this guy keep getting starting jobs, it has to be his good looking wife getting popped by Davis :mj07:

As far as Mcnabb goes I have never thought it was an elite NFL QB, he was above average when he could run and be mobile, but those days are over. He has never been a good passer, he just had a hellva team around him plus no real competition those 4 years they won.

Mcnabb is no where near top 10 in NFL now even if healthy.

yes you are a homer.
if pitts called and offered rothelisberger for mcnugget straight up you would NOT do it. are you howard eskin??
as for the qb's ahead of your boy
rothelisberger, brees, manning, brunell, plummer, bledsoe. eagles will win 5/7 with mike mc as qb, maybe 6.

Rothelisberger throws the ball 13 times a game, while the Eagles go to the air about 45 a game. No I would not make that trade.

Brees hasn't won a playoff game.

E Manning has one lifetime road win.

Bledsoe wasn't good enough for Buffalo and now all of the sudden is is the second coming? Same with Brunell in Jax. Ever think it has to do with the coaches they play for now?

If you want to argue Plummer that's fair, but the guy can get very sloppy in big spots. If that's your preference so be it.

If you like to buy into hype, I'd rather stick with results.

imo mcnabb is a little overrated. but to is a cancer that has to be cut out. he will be unhappy anywhere he goes. it might be rosy the first year but he will destroy that quickly. i wish every team would blacklist the sob until he grows up, but you know that wont happen

unfortunately jerry jones said he would take him. that blows. dont want to see him on my cowboys.

the qb position is an intellectual position, and mcnugget is one of the dumbest players in the leauge.
why does mcnuggets interceptions go thru the roof come playoff time and his td's vanish? why were they favored in 3 of the 4 championship games and only win 1. he is NOT a leader. put him up against a good team, he will loose.

I'll agree that McNabb is not a cerbral player. Detmer is mostly on the team because he seems to be the only one that can read a defense.

He might choke in the big games too, I still never have read a good answer as to what happened last year in the final minutes of the Super Bowl.

So all and all maybe I was premature to put him top 5, but I still think there are a lot of worse options out there.

Part of an article I had mailed to me this morning that I found interesting....

========================================

It's all about the decisions you make. SI's Peter King is reporting
that when Terrell Owens made his half hearted apology to the press
about the Eagles not recognizing his 100th touchdown, he took a white
sheet of paper torn in half to the podium. The other half of the paper
was left by a stool in his locker.

A Comcast SportsNet reporter saw
the paper and copied down what it said. "I apologize to him [McNabb]
for any comments that may have been negative. I respect him as a
player and am proud of his exemplary performances as my quarterback
and the leader of this team. I respect his willingness to play with
injury and his goal to take his team back to the Super Bowl."

If he'd taken that half to the podium, he'd still be an Eagle and who knows
where they'd be sitting tonight. Wow.

Also had this note in the same email....

========================================

The arbitrator that will rule in the Terrell Owens appeal is Richard
Bloch. Mr. Bloch is a Washington Redskins season ticket holder.
Interesting.

No one sayes this about Jim Kelley,Fran Tarkenton,John Brodie,Ken Anderson,Dan Fouts, the book on guys like this and many others is that they were smart and just not fortunate enough to play with the"right" teammates. The Eagles looked pretty good when he finally had a decent reciever, something they never had before but he still took them to the NFC championship every year.Do you really think he'd have lost if he had even half of what the Rams have for recievers and running backs? He looks awful at times but has no help to speak of offensively.Surround him with good wr and rb and he'll be hell on wheels.

By the way, since this is a handicapping forum Fairy Dust, only a dipshit doesn't know that its a bet against situation when a team has scored over 30 three weeks in a row, certainly not a biggest bet of your life time. Not saying they'll lose, but its enough for me at least not to believe the final score I'm forecasting for the Carolina game because they scored more than 30 three times in a row.On the good side for you, caro has covered vs the Bears three times in a row,but some would say thats meaningless info. The triple 30 or more usually means bet against and under.Gl P.S.McNabb has more balls than a person like you could even dream of to take the hits he does.

Wow, how intelligent you must be to get all of those thoughts out all at once. The fact that you have to bash people to get your point across just tells me that you have the IQ of a 2 year old. We will see on Sunday about your dumbass trend. I don't think that I ever said that Carolina would kill them or that they would even score 30 pts. I think I said that my best bet was carolina -1. That is 1 pt. The final could be 7-3, and I wouldn't give a shit. I just think Carolina wins the game. There is a chance that they lose, that is why its called gambling. As far as your love affair with McPic, here is where he stands today. Not over the last 5 years (this isn't the cubs next year hopes) it is where he is now. You are right about the hits that he has taken. Maybe he is not running anymore because he is scared.

It seems as though a couple of posters keep referring the McNabb with stupid names (i.e. mcnugget or mc pic me) Did you lose money on Monday night or in the past for weeks betting the eagles? It just seems as though there is a little hatred in your words.

In terms of qbs on your list, are you really saying you would take these qbs today over McNabb. I see maybe 5-7 that I would take over him, but 17, come on.
