recreated post, last time for this chit!!!
plate ump Hollowell is 10-2 to the over this season, issuing amazing 13.57 runs/game and has SO/walk ratio of 1.22!
covers sez "The over is 10-1-2 in the last 13 meetings."
Loaiza has not lasted long in his last two starts, and now has a 16.50 era for June.
sportsnetwork sez: "In seven home starts this season, Pavano is 1-4 with a 5.53 ERA. Of the 12 homers he has allowed, he has given up 11 at Olympic Stadium.
Pavano has faced the Blue Jays twice in his career and has lost both meetings. In nine lifetime innings, he has allowed Toronto five runs. "
this from Myles in Montreal Gazette:
"ON THE BUBBLE: It's no exaggeration to say right-hander Carl Pavano's start tonight is crucial to his immediate future with the club. Pavano lasted just 31/3 innings and gave up seven runs (five earned) in his last start, a 13-2 loss to the Tigers in Detroit. He still has minor-league options left, and Robinson doesn't see a move to the bullpen as the best move for a pitcher who had elbow problems in each of his first four big-league seasons. "I look for him to be better. If he's not, we may get someone else, go to a four-man rotation, plug Day into the No. 4 spot, use (Masato) Yoshii against certain ballclubs," Robinson said. "I don't think it would do (Pavano) any good to be in the bullpen, because you couldn't use him middle or late. You'd use him in long relief. I'd be worried about getting him up (too often) and using him two days later."
Ticker sez Pavano might also become NL's first nine game loser today. You'd think that might motivate him to a good start.
but I guess just one starter would have to continue to stink for the over to come in.
both bullpens stink too, especially Montreal's.
need more thoughts!!
