Just bought tickets on-line for Sat. night for me, the troph, and some very well-to-do Republican friends. I assume the fists will be flying after the flick between my friend and I. However, I will provide a full review on Sunday.

I'll be interested in your review, Haskell. As independents, people look to people like us to provide fair and balanced views of controversial subjects like this movie.

Good idea getting the tix online. Although the second weekend won't be as bad, it was a total mob scene at the theater last weekend. Of course, a lot of the reason for that is because only 2 of the 8 or so theaters withing 45 miles of here were showing it.

Frankly, Bernie, I'm shocked they are even showing the film in my right wing neck of the woods. The suburb and zip code next to mine (not where Huggins was busted) is the 3rd largest zip code contributor to the new nazi party aka Republican Party in the country behind somewhere in suburban New York and Texas. I mean little ole Cincinnati population of a couple hundred thousand is number 3.

Amazingly right wing conservative around here. I wonder if there might be a correlation between this towns conservative ranking and the racial issues that seem to abound here. Naw. We got compassionate conservatives and no child left behind going on here.

My initial take on this film and the others by Moore is not so much for there factual accuracy but, rather it is just so refreshing that we are able to see another take on things. I mean all I see, hear and read around here is pro-Bush. The Enquirer is so right oriented its pathetic, WLW is spewing Limbaugh, Cunningham and other neo-nazi's all day long, the huge majority of political bumper stickers on cars in Hamilton County are Bush/Cheney 04. Unreal.

Yes, I will provide an unbiased, objective review of the film from the perspective of the centrists in this country this Sunday. Of course, unless golf gets in the way. By the way Kosar, do we have some groups together to hit the links for AC?

Haskell,

I don't think it really matters about the politics of a city/region as to whether the movie is shown. I think it's simply who owns whichever particular theater. Like Regal and Muvico(and others) won't show it no matter what. Others (like AMC and Sunrise and others) will. This is a very republican county here as well, but i'll tell ya, the blue hairs were fired up in that jam packed theater. They raised the roof, if you will.

They won't give us a tee time until we're within 3 weeks, but at that time I plan on booking 2 foursomes and we'll see where that goes. I have you pegged to ride with ctownguy.

In all fairness, maybe you should give the neocons a week or so to get used to this new forum before we start a thread to talk about the film. Do you really think that Ctownguy and Wilson will be able to find the general forum in the next few days?

Good morning chanman, and welcome to the F 9/11 thread. 'where the centrists come to play.'

Now, can you call Wilson and wake him up out of his drunken stupor long enough to give us some thoughts about the movie?

GW,

The amazing thing about the movie is that in each of the 6 times I watched it, I noticed something that I had missed before.

BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!
3 Cheers for the "centrists"...the "independants"....the "objective" commentators.

Kosar-Did you ever here the old saying..."Preaching philosophy is like puking, the undigested things are the first to fly ou the mouth."

It's amazing to consider the amount of absolute hogwash I let you spout on here without any reasonable or intelligent opposition simply because I consider you a friend. Please stop forcing me to excercise my "ENDLESS" restraint.

Objective.....PAAALEEEEEAAAAAASSSSE!!!!!

lol- Thanks for the shout-out, my man. As a die hard independent, I appreciate all views.

Did *you* ever hear the old saying-'hogwash is in the eye of the beholder?' I didn't think so. Cuz it's not really a saying. I just made it up.

I plan on seeing it in the next week. I've actually never watched any of Moore's films since I consider him to be a bit of a fruitloop, but I will check this one out and give my thoughts afterward.

Kozzie:

Ctown and I in the same cart will work. We can ride to the course together as I'm sharing a room with his wife that night in Brigatine (she's paying). See if you can get Tara and Mel to drive the beer carts.

Haskell,

Missy's in for driving the beer cart, but Tara said something about dressing up in a cheerleaders outfit and singing Kid Rock songs in between holes.

i happen

i happen

to be very fond of you,kozar....and eddie,also......very fond,indeed...

when i saw the "independent" comment the first time in the thread,i chuckled and silently said to myself.....,"those rapscallions!"....

then i saw the "centrist" word in a subsequent panel, and it seemed that this thread was heading into ray bradbury territory.....i figured an intervention was necessary.....

you guys are still my bunkies....

I saw it Saturday Night. Very good. Moore is a genius. And if this stuff was a lie you can bet the Bush people would be all over Fox News telling us exactly what is false.
