You'd be surprised how quickly it can spread within a family too. It actually gets fairly annoying when semi-long-lost cousins start popping up. :sadwave:
I am sure this sounds bad, but if someone is important enough to me I will keep in contact anyway. :shrug: But then again I am not an important, on the move type of guy. Not knocking it, just not my thing.
I'm on there too... It's terrific fun at first when you see lots of people you haven't talked to in years, but then it slows down a little. It's still fun though.
Well I have moved around quite a bit.
I think most of us have friends from high school, college etc that we have lost touch with, it just the way life is for most of us.
Facebook makes it easy to connect w/ those people by listing high school, college etc.
Hell I have been re-connected w/ some folks from grade school.
Its a good thing.
Facebook's great til all your friends start with all the nonsense. Nonsense would be in no particular order:
Throw snowballs at you and request 1 be thrown back.
Send little fake green plants to help fight fake global warming
Poke you and want to be poked back
Want you to join mob wars
Relatives request they be added as relatives
Drinking requests that are not even real. NOT EVEN REAL VINNIE! Believe dat.
Send you pieces of flair.
Hug you and want hugs in return.
And on and on and on and on.
This is the proverbial tip of the iceberg. Know when enough is enough.

You can block application requests I believe. I had a couple people who were constantly doing just what you said, and I just clicked to ignore all requests. Don't get bothered now.
