I just want to say

This is won(one) of the best days I have ever experienced in handicapping. I now am refocused and goal oriented in that my new agenda is to find games on the board in which oddmakers do not rely on the computers to formulate their numbers. I will be looking at the lines that don't make any sense from a variety of standpoints, much like Penn State and Ohio State. If OSU were a 12 point favorite, which my numbers indicated, I would have stayed away, but when I came across 7, then seeing how many bettors were riding the Buckeyes, a minimal increase to 7.5...I looked deeper into this game to find two powerful trends and two team and conference specific angles that favored Penn State very strongly. The oddsmakers know these trends and angles and it is my opinion that they wavered on the side of history and took a calculated risk to attract as many bettors to take Ohio State. It worked to perfection if that was their goal. I hate to use the word "trap" but Humans are one big psychology experiment and it's amazing how easily we are swayed by what seems like "deals too good to pass up," just ask Carlton Sheets and Ron Propiel...LOL. I will investigate this issue further on a weekly basis and post my finding as I dig up dirt on past games that fit this criteria.
