Thx, DNO. Much appreciated for sure. Just taking it all in now. ESPN sure loved Fonoti's pancake stats, but people don't realize how important mobility is for linemen. I was an undersized lineman in HS and I loved having a fat, stationary target to shoot at. I'm not a Husker fan, but enjoyed watching Raiola and Hochstein a few yrs back. Was also fun to watch Miami's efficient line operate last yr.

I'm a Wisconsin fan. Can't say I have contacts there, but I usually do pretty well on their gms. Have a pretty good feel for what their hi/low points will be. Wow, their defense is devastated. Sieve defense last yr (28 ppg allowed), and their top 5 tacklers depart. Griesen, Boese, Bryant, Echols. Their 2002 defense will effectively be totally unproven. I stood next to Broussard; he's a midget. Fresno State's speed figures to be a problem again. I'll do what I can to provide Wisky updates.

Chucky: Looking forward to your analysis in regard to Wisconsin. You know "inside" information does not guarantee us a win, but it can be helpful and insigthful.

One thing I want to say in regard to those "pancakes" without beating a dead horse. That is a similar to getting a sack for a D-lineman or rush end. It does not tell the whole story about their performance.

When you mentioned Hochstein and Raiola, those were probably 2 of the most firery, hard-working guys NU has ever had on the O-line. It did not help that they were extremely gifted athletes and only about 300 lbs. Fonoti checked in at the Rose Bowl at around 380 with Waldrop 360. That is not condusive to pulling and sealing corners for the option.

Something that is very troubling in regard to Fonoti, and TE Tracy Wistrom whom is trying to catch on with Tampa Bay. Right after the Rose Bowl when Fonoti left campus to get ready for pro ball he lost about 40 lbs and increased all his performance numbers with eye-popping efficiency. Wistrom, who wasn never more than 230 lbs in a Husker Uniform gained 25 lbs in 6 weeks and dropped his 40 from a 4.95 to about a 4.7. Huge rifts between Boyd Eppley and the medical staff are leading to a Husker team that is no longer the fittest in the nation anymore. Players are getting fat, injured and not nearly as strong as we are used to seeing those killer tomatoes.

OK, I hate to beat a dead horse about the Huskers but I love talking about them and college football; especially when I have something helpful to add. Lets make this a great year fellas!!!
