I went to high school and college in the '70s and a good 65 % were smoking weed, the athletes, profs and even the damn nurse were included.

May have been the best decade in history on many different levels.

I envy you... I was a 90's kid. everything sucked. :(

It wasn't even weed, it was that synthetic crap u buy in gas stations. How does anyone even test + for that? And how do they call it synthetic weed, its like potpourri.

I mean, it's either marijuana or its not, did it have thc in it? And if it did, how the hell can they sale it in gas stations? Makes no sense.

Hell, smoke a Marlboro red, that will get u a head rush too. :mj07:

are you serious!? that shit isnt even illegal.

god I hate college athletics. Everything is a double standard.

Hey college quarterback, you cant stay up past 10 pm.. but its ok if your coaches and recruiters break heavily regulated NCAA rules and regulations almost daily.

My guess is that they were found to be smoking or tested positive for marijuana but to keep it within the boundaries of the law and a shorter suspension they are calling it "synthetic weed". Yea Right!!??

As I stated in this forum after LSU beat Oregon week 1. LSU will go undefeated and (obviously) win the National Championship despite the defficiency at the QB position. LSU defense is sick, quick, fast...etc. Unless there offense turns the ball over multiple times and screws them, they will not lose a game this year. It would be wise to bet on them blindly every week. The national champ generally is going to cover 62%+.

If your going to play football at LSU your held to a higher standard than any other college student. Regular students don't get the benefits college athletes do. Its a choice you make. If you choose to be an athlete at a top school you accept what comes with it. You will be living in a fish bowl! Everything you do and say is on display. If you want to be a synthetic weed smoking punk hang with your boys on the block and do it and enjoy your job at walmart. I am not a hipocrite I realize kids do shit like this but dont make fucking stupid decisions that tarnish the reputation of the school. I have seen it on ESPN and the front page of the paper all day today. What would it cost to get that kind of advertising? Millions and you get it free for being a stupid ass. Miles is everyones friend and its costing him.

By the way Roll Tide those photoshops are fucking hilarious! Thats the kind of bullshit I don't want to see though. I hope Auburn wins the fucking game outright! Save me the terrible pain I am going to feel when we loose to a superiorly coached bama team in 2 weeks those guys are disciplined!

I guess my problem with this is that athletes are held to a higher standard than the general student population. It's a catch-22 though. There are definitely pros and cons to being a college athlete. Ultimately you have to make the right decisions.

If these guys were on academic scholarships they wouldn't be subjected (I don't think so at least) to these random drug tests.

Having said that, I'm sure that each athlete has been informed of the athletic department policy and what the ramifications are if one breaks the rules.

This has been going on for a long time and will continue to happen.

If they are guilty of violating a drug policy then they should have to pay the price, but I think it's stupid.

The flip side to this is that LSU is in the thick of a National Championship race and you would hope that these players would not do ANYTHING to jeopardize this opportunity.

I got Auburn at 23 at Betus and am loving it now.......too many points to give to a team with a diverse talented running game, a helluva coach and an improving defense......LSU better bring it or they could get stunned, but I still would say 24-14 LSU and I agree about them losing to Bama in 2 weeks

Settle down there my man. As most are stating there is a huge % of students and student athletes who like to party. No one is looking down at LSU because a few players got caught smoking weed. Only you evidently. Everyone knows by now that the majority of the LSU players are not there for the education they are there because they are good football players and successful football programs generate income. If you hate it that much Im sure there are other teams in your area you could follow.

Sorry If you tailed me on this one. I forgot about a very serious angle in this game. Auburn came in to Louisiana and stole 2 of our best prospects Travon Reed and Greg Robinsoin, Robinson was bought an iphone and given cash. LSU wanted to make a statement in this game and they certainly did. That was the largest margin of victory in the history of the rivalry. Sorry if you tailed me it was fucking painful cheering for that pathetic excuse for a football team and to not be able to enjoy my tiger win was get gut wrenching.
