Air Force One travels with it's own fake turkey on board. They better becareful how they say that. The public may have a misunderstanding.

You must know that as soon as the word got out that George Bush had visited the troops in Iraq on Thanksgiving day, the left started looking at every nuance of that event in hopes of finding something to criticize: Some lie, some fraud, some breach of protocol or decency. Well, it looks like they found it. Do you remember that tray with the turkey that Bush picked up and held during that thanksgiving dinner? The Washington Post has, after what surely must have been an intensive investigation, discovered that that particular turkey was a decoration, not a turkey destined for consumption. We're told that a contractor roasted that turkey and adorned it with grapes and greenery as a decoration for the banquet table. The Post is now telling us that picking up a turkey that was not actually meant to be eaten has "opened new credibility questions for (the) White House. White House officials are now having to explain that Bush didn't actually know that this particular turkey was a decoration."
How desperate can you get? Bush picks up an ornamental turkey and the Washington Post seizes on this as an example of White House credibility problems? Good post DJV.

Mjolnir. Nope. He ran on tight bugets less spending and no turkeys. So far he's 0 & 3. Some what like the vsit to the emty plant in Ohio. Where they were fast to pile a bunch of emty boxes behind him. Orders were way down. So they made it look as best they could. Hey the guy should need no props. But he isn't the first nor will he be the last. I just though it was funny. Becasue you dont what the news to get mixed up and have folks say the pres was a turkey.
There was more wrong with that visit. 2 hours about 500 guys. Another couple of stops to see more of the folks would have really been big time. And don't come with that BS Iraq is not safe. He has his staff telling us everyday how it's 85% secure. Some time you need to show more balls then cute thing out of your mouth. Like bring it on.

Who cares if it was real or fake. Some of you people, against the war or for it should be more concerned that the pay for our troops over there has been cut. Doesn't help when morale over there is already gone way down. As for troops cheering in GW's presence or having smiles, they are under orders to act that way. It is the military ya know.

JT you are correct it is the military. Yes you better be cherring and jumping. If your captain or sergeant saw you just standing there with your hands in pocket or in your ass. Well your ass would be grass and they would have the lawn more. What did seem strange to me was all that money it cost for 2 hours. I can't believe he felt he could not visited a couple more sites. I mean this quick in and out helped for a few photos. But im not sure what else it did for any troops other then those in that room. It sure as hell didn't show anyone how secure Iraq is supposed to be. I mean it's kind-a like scared to stay hello good by. Chit even old lady Clinton stayed a day. I think maybe we should get Ken Star to look into that fake turkey thing. Maybe we should ask Georgie Boy why he was holding a fake turkey. When did he plan the trip. Why was National Security put at risk so he could hold a fake turkey. I think we can spend millions asking this question over and over. By the way is that turkey gravey on Mrs. Clintons dress?
