No they aren't, but they are when the favorite is about on pace to cover the original spread....ie. a team is favored by 7 for the game and leading by 4 at the half, you're almost always going to find them within a half a point of -3 for the second half. Likewise if a team is favored by 7 for the game and leading by 10 at the half, you're probably going to see the dog favored by about 3 for the 2H.

Only exceptions are games that are somewhat one-sided, or maybe games with a major player injured shortly before the half.

I agree with you GM...BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TOTAL OF 19 points. is that an adjustment to the original line????

explain that to the brilliant wisecracker a few lines above !! LOL

Same thing applies to totals as sides. The total, if it is within a reasonable range of being about half of the original total, will be adjusted so it adds up to the original total.

IE. 37 pts was the full game total. If 17 were scored in the 1H, you'd have a 2H total of about 20. Likewise 20 in the 1H would result in a 2H total of about 17.

But when there are 24 pts scored in the 1H there's no way they put a 2H total up of 13...too far off course, they would get absolutely hammered with Over money.
