Same Falcons team as last year.

They can get in the red zone but come to a screeching halt and feel like field goals are the
way they can win games.

4 th and goal last chance.

Why didn't they hand it off to Jackson who they got for that reason.

They didn't want to embarrass him when he got stuffed.

This is not a Super Bowl team.

I will say 9-10 games against the bottom dwellers that they have on their schedule.

Now they head to St Louis where Jackson will have a lot to prove.

1. The offensive line struggled. Surprised? Questions about the strength of the Falcons? offensive line circulated throughout the offseason and preseason. Nothing in the opener alleviated those concerns. Right tackle Lamar Holmes got crushed in pass protection but he wasn?t alone, as Matt Ryan was constantly under pressure. He was sacked three times and hit often (although the Saints were credited with only six quarterback hits). This is a Saints? defense that set the NFL record for most yards allowed in a season in 2012: 7,042. What happens when the Falcons play a good defense? Wide receiver Roddy White?s reference to scoring only 17 points: ?Terrible.?

2. Steven Jackson made his presence felt. This was the offseason move that went right. Jackson showed that he?s a significant upgrade over Michael Turner, rushing for 77 yards on only 11 carries, including a 50-yarder, and adding five catches for 45 yards. He still has a burst. But his first game as a Falcon ended on a bad note: He failed to cradle a third-down would-be go-ahead touchdown pass from Ryan with 49 seconds remaining. It was not going to be an easy catch and the ball hit Jackson high on the chest. But in his words, ?I dropped it.?

3. The Falcons? defensive front, which added Osi Umenyiora in the offseason but let John Abraham go, struggled to get pressure on quarterback Drew Brees. But the play of the secondary wasn?t awful. Granted, Brees threw for a ton of yards (357 on 26-of-35 passing). But he seldom was rushed to throw and the fact that this young secondary held the Saints? potent offense to two touchdown drives was significant. Also, veteran cornerback Asante Samuel did not play because of a thigh injury, even though coach Mike Smith maintained earlier in the week that he would be available

Jadeveon Clowney might have some work to do off the field ? at least according to his former college coach.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier told the NFL Network on Wednesday that Clowney wasn?t the hardest-working player on his college roster.

?It was OK,? Spurrier said, when asked about Clowney?s work ethic. ?It wasn?t like Marcus Lattimore, you know, every player is a little different. But when the ball?s snapped, he?s got an explosion like you?ve never seen before.?
As Clowney prepares to become a potential top-five pick in the upcoming NFL draft, critics have pointed to his lackadaisical attitude off the field as a possible road block to becoming a successful pro. After an October game against Kentucky in which Clowney did not play, Spurrier made headlines when he told reporters, ?If [Clowney] wants to play, we will welcome him to come play for the team if he wants.?

But Spurrier was not just critical of Clowney on Wednesday. The Gamecocks? coach made it known that Clowney still has all the tools necessary to succeed at the next level.

?Jadeveon Clowney has been here three years,? Spurrier said. ?I think the biggest thing you can say right away is we?ve won 11 games three years in a row since he got here. In high school, his team won a state championship ? so he?s been a winner as well as being the most dominant defensive player on the field all the time. Even though his production this year wasn?t near what it was last year, he had two or three guys waiting on his just about every play.?
SI.com?s Don Banks projects Clowney as the third overall pick in his latest NFL Mock Draft.

If you've got some time, head to New Mexico.

Fresh data from Spreadsheets, a sex-tracking App launched last August, may show how your state measures up -- endurance-wise -- to its neighbors.

"We're creating a sort of thermometer for sex," co-creator Tyler Elick, 29, told The Huffington Post. In addition to how long you're lasting, Spreadsheets can keep track of thrusts per minute, audio levels, and frequency of sex.

"Our goal is to provide a product that ? connects people on an intimate level," he said. Elick and co-creator Danny Wax "saw a need in the market" when they realized that people were already tracking activities like their runs and sleep cycles.

This week, Nerve.com compiled a state-by-state rundown of averaged sex times, which can be seen below. The data comes from approximately 5,000 users and 23,000 individual sex sessions in the U.S. (there are about 10,000 users worldwide). Here's the list, from longest to shortest:

5 Types Of Friends Worth Keeping Forever

1) Friends who make the effort.
I have one friend who -- although she is swamped with career and childcare duties -- never fails to reach out via text, email or phone every few days, no matter what else is going on. Even if it's simply something succinct -- like "just wanted to touch base and say hi" -- I truly appreciate these signals that I'm being thought about and that our friendship is important to her. I also appreciate my friends who are forgiving. I'm not saying that someone should forgive an offense quickly -- or superficially. It takes time to forgive. But if too much time is taken, bad feelings fester, and the friendship may never get back on track. No one is perfect and a true friend will understand that.

2) Friends who are genuinely happy for me when something good happens.
I'm fortunate enough to have at least a few friends who are sincerely and openly happy for me when something nice occurs. (You're probably wondering... shouldn't every kind of friend be happy for others? You'd think so, but that's not always the case.) Friends who are genuinely happy exhibit not a smidgeon of jealously, but seem truly thrilled about the sale of my book -- and the various accomplishments of my three children. They watch and revel in my glory -- without any inkling of bitterness -- and I do the same for them. (After all, friendship is a two-way street.)

3) Friends who are upbeat.
You know the opposite of this type. They are those folks who ruminate over every little problem in their life again and again -- and yet never make one move to change their situation. They are Debbie Downers. And they bring me down. Misery loves company and downbeat friends generally are more interested in your bad news than your good news. People who are positive and motivated and optimistic and who lift up those around them are worth hanging on to. I have one friend who never fails to compliment me on something -- even if it's just "wow, are you parting your hair on a different side? Nice!" -- when she sees me.

4) Friends who are up for anything.
Earlier this month, I went with five girlfriends to a Korean spa in New Jersey called King Spa. The facility is like a mall, with three floors composed of all types of hot and cold spas. The night before our "spa day," we checked the website and realized we'd be naked -- and so would everyone else. But rather than cop out, we decided to go for it. And it was one of the best times I've ever had. There is something completely liberating about sitting with friends, chatting about our lives, while totally naked. Talk about shedding one's inhibitions! I left there loving the fact that my friends were willing to try something completely outside their comfort zone.

5) Friends who are authentic.
This is the steadfast friend who is anything but pretentious -- the one who's not afraid to see you without makeup or after she's been crying or when her house is a mess. She's not averse to showing you her true self -- or seeing yours. She's "real" and honest and will tell you the truth when asked her opinion. When your behavior is questionable, there is a fine line between expressing concern and expressing judgement. A true friend will tell you the truth -- and will let you know they'll always be on your side no matter what decision you make even if, in their opinion, it's the wrong one.

Detroit

Number 1 in America - Murder Capitol

Though it takes home the ignominious distinction of America's most violent city, according to Law Street, Detroit residents can perhaps take some small comfort in knowing that violent crime declined during the first six months of 2013. Murder and aggravated assault were both down and violent crime declined by about 5 percent overall. Rape, under the FBI's broader definition, increased by 46 percent and robbery went up by 8 percent.

another big time bust I see at the combine is Isaiah Crowell the kid that kicked off Georgia for having a gun under his seat.

This dude dont like to be hit. He has bulked up to 214 but its in the head where the problems hide.

maybe round 6 if he is lucky

been watching the combine about 2 hrs off and on. Taped it so I can run thru it.

South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney didn't wow anybody Sunday with his bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine, putting up just 21 reps at 225 pounds.

There were 14 defensive linemen at last year's combine who had at least 28 reps, and Georgia Southern's Jerick McKinnon led the running backs at this year's combine with 32. Heck, Miami punter Pat O'Donnell had 23 reps this year.:scared

Clowney measured 6-foot-5 and 266 pounds, with an arm length of 34? inches, at the combine weigh-in. Granted, big bench-press numbers are not the be-all, end-all for defensive ends, especially those who possess rare pass-rush skills, but the 21 still is a low number.

There were 36 defensive linemen at the combine who had as many or more bench reps than Clowney, while 13 had fewer. Potential first-round tackle Ra'Shede Hageman of Minnnesota was tied for third with 32, while Pitt tackle Aaron Donald was second with 35. Donald is a potential second-rounder. Boston College tackle Kaleb Ramsey had the most, with 36.

Defensive end Mario Williams, who went first to Houston in the 2006 draft, had 35 reps at the combine.

But Mayock also openly questioned Clowney's intensity level. Mayock said because there are questions about the possible answer, Clowney might not be the first non-quarterback selected in May. Mayock said that would happen "solely because of inconsistencies off the field and the work ethic."

Brady Quinn did 24 reps back in 2007

How can Clowney run a 4.47 forty at 6-5 266 lbs. and only get 3.5 sacks over an entire season where he played 11 games vs. BCS level teams, 2 games were vs. lower level cupcakes?

If Clowney can get lazy and not play BEFORE he gets an NFL paycheck, how do you know he won't get lazy knowing he has millions in the bank and that an NFL team can't cut him due to Salary Cap penalties?

If a player has "lazy in his FB-DNA", then I don't want him, no matter what the measurables say.

Greg Robinson plays the game the hard every snap all the time, those are the kinds of players the Falcons needs.

Simple he was triple teamed and most teams stayed completely away from him. What were his hurries? What tapes of Clowney are you people watching? I'm no fan of Atlanta drafting him, but some of you folks are going over the edge in trashing him!

He wasn't double and triple teamed that much where he could only muster 3.5 sacks.

Clowney wasn't a factor last year., guys like you are over-rating him based on one ESPN hi-light clip where he was left unblocked and blew up a RB in the backfield.

Do you think that Derrick Thomas was doubled his Sr. year?

Many good college DEs get doubled ,but they have put up better Stats that Clowney did last year.

The Truth is is that JC was counting his money early and went through the motions and played lazy!

How lazy will he be when getting hit harder by grown @$$ men in the NFL, how lazy will he be with a $15 million rookie bonus in the bank?

Hard to invest a #6 pick in a guy that took his last yr. in college OFF to "protect himself"!

Supposed Matt Ryan or Julio Jones took their last yr. in college off and put up terrible stats because they protected themselves?

1. Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina: As one source told me a few weeks back, "Is he a risk? Maybe. Is it a bigger risk to pass on him? Yes." Clowney wowed at the Combine in the 40-yard-dash as expected, and proved he was the physical freak he showed flashes of in 2012. He'€™s still growing. The Texans have a hole at quarterback and Teddy Bridgewater or Blake Bortles could be tempting, but you don'€™t pass on Clowney. Pair him with J.J. Watt, and suddenly Andrew Luck isn'€™t so comfortable in the AFC South for the next 10 years.

2. St. Louis Rams (from Washington Redskins): Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn: I'€™ve heard the Larry Allen comparisons, and can'€™t say that they aren'€™t that far off. Robinson does it all. A run-blocking mauler and a pass protector of the highest order, he'€™s exactly what Sam Bradford needs in St. Louis. Jake Long on one end, Robinson on another '€” the Rams could have a fighting chance in the loaded NFC West, after all.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville: You'€™ll hear a lot of hype around Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles the next few months, and they both deserve the attention, but I still think Bridgewater'€™s the first quarterback off the board in May. He comes from a pro-style offense under offensive coordinator Shawn Watson at Louisville (now a coach at Texas) and can contribute as the starter right away. Some question his size and arm strength, but I think he'll put those worries away when he throws at his Pro Day in March. Jacksonville'€™s got one of the best young coaching staffs in the league and in offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, an innovative mind. Bridgewater could be the right man to run the show.

4. Cleveland Browns: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M: If there's any fan base in the NFL that needs a spark and a reason to be excited, it's that of the Browns. After another mess of a season and another coach and GM change, the Browns are in desperate need of someone and something to rally around. I'€™m not a huge Manziel fan, but he'€™s certainly a guy fans will rally around. Ron Jaworski and Phil Simms may be right '€”Manziel could be a disaster'€” but at this point, the Browns need to roll the dice and be willing to find out.

5. Oakland Raiders: Blake Bortles, QB, UCF: A team in desperate need of a quarterback, this could be the perfect fit, as Bortles falls to the Raiders. I don'€™t see the Ben Roethlisberger comparisons other pundits are making '€Roethlisberger'€™s bigger, has a better arm, and better footwork'€” but I think Bortles has a future. Top 5 seems high for a guy who didn'€™t exactly tear up the American Athletic Conference, but he'€™s got a shot to go as high as No. 1.

6. Atlanta Falcons: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA: Barr does it all. Think Von Miller Part II. Offensive line could be the greatest need in Atlanta, but having a pass rush would be nice, too. Mike Nolan'€™s D couldn'€™t get to the quarterback in 2013. Barr'€™s capable of doing just that. The crazy thing? He was the second best linebacker on UCLA last season.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson: The Buccaneers have needs outside of wide receiver, but if Sammy Watkins falls to No. 7, they can'€™t pass on him. I haven'€™t had a wide receiver rated as high as Watkins since A.J. Green and Julio Jones in 2011. He'€™s the real deal '” big enough to take a hit, fast enough to burn the best cornerbacks deep. Pair him with Vincent Jackson, and the Bucs instantly have one of the more feared wide receiver combinations in the league.

Clowy with a attitude.

he elected not to practise at South Carolina one day . Coach came in and found him playing cards with some other players that were injured. Coach stormed out saying if you don't practice you don't play Saturday.

Clownman in uniform the next day.

Its pretty easy to see big red flags up the pole flapping in the wind.

Its character issues and a good example of the same was M Vick. Same attitude same outcome.

good luck Houston.

I would take Conner Shaw later and use this pick for a real stud.

Bridgewater has them chicken bone legs that break easily in the NFL. He aint going to run without turning RJ Griffin crumpled.

I saw games where this guy did not step up when he should have for a top 10 pick.

no way I take this guy

ON THE TACKLES:

?Greg Robinson, Taylor Lewan, and Jake Matthews established themselves as top 10 talents at the combine. Greg Robinson, he?s a dominant athlete and a dominant player. ? just based on his athleticism, he should be a dominant player for a long time in the league.
?With Jake Matthews, people were surprised that he performed as well as he did athletically (at the combine). People thought he would be physically sound, but people didn?t think he?d be near the athlete as Robinson and Lewan. The fact that he performed well in drills really enhances what he brings to the table as a left tackle.
?With Taylor Lewan, people were just as excited by seeing his athleticism on display. He really hasn?t played offensive tackle long because he switched from tight end to tackle in high school. But when you get a guy of his size, playing and performing the way that he did, people started to believe that he could be a franchise player at the next level.?

ON MACK VS. BARR DEBATE:

We asked Brooks to settle the Khalil Mack vs. Anthony Barr debate at edge rusher/linebacker for us. He likes Mack, but later selects Barr.
?That is such a tough debate because I go back and forth. Originally, I was huge on Anthony Barr being a better player. But Khalil Mack, I think he brings more sizzle as a pass rusher just because he?s long and rangy. I see him as a guy who?s very similar to Julian Peterson. When you watched them on the turf together, Khalil Mack appeared to be a better and more natural linebacker right now than Anthony Barr.
?When I look at Khalil Mack I see that he?s big, he?s strong and he?s physical. I liken him to what Ahmad Brooks is for the San Francisco 49ers. I think he?s a solid player. I think he?s a physical player at the point of attack.
?I think Anthony Barr will project as a better cover guy, just because he?s long and athletic. He?s only played the position for a few years. He was a running back in high school. ? He?s just a very natural athlete. ?I think he has all those traits that you look for in a long, rangy and athletic linebacker that can be a 3-4 rush end or a drop (into coverage) player.?
ON MICHAEL SAM: Since we had him on the phone, we asked about Missouri defensive end Michael Sam, who?s attempting to be the first openly gay player in the NFL.
?Everyone kind of knew what he was an athlete after watching him at the Senior Bowl. But really what he is in terms of draft status is a designated pass rusher. He?s a nickel pass rusher. He has the ability to come in on third downs and get after the quarterback. He?s not athletic enough to be that 3-4 outside linebacker and he?s not stout enough to be an every down defensive end. So, you would need to have a role for him.
?When we are looking at the draft, when you are picking players as role players or as specialists, it kind of diminishes their value. He?s a draftable player for sure, but now I think we?re talking about the fifth round. He?s a guy who can contribute to special teams and also as a situational rusher in certain packages.?

ON FALCONS TRADING UP FOR CLOWNEY: We had another question for Brooks. Should the Falcons trade up to get Jadeveon Clowney?

?They are really sitting in the catbird sit. They can sit at six and have one of those offensive tackles fall to them. Or, they can take one of the linebackers, Barr or Mack and they can fill the role that John Abraham had. ?I think Anthony Barr is a better fit because of his range. Or, they can move up and go and get Clowney. It would take a King?s ransom to get up to No. 1, but I think if they believe he can be a difference maker. ?I think that everyone can see that based on his athletic potential and playing in a dome, they could do it. I think Thomas Dimitroff has shown that he?s not afraid to make that kind of move.

Bradie Ewing, who was injury-prone with the Falcons, was released by the team on Friday.
Ewing, 24, was selected by the Falcons in the fifth-round (157th overall) of the 2012 NFL draft.
Ewing, 6-foot and 239 pounds, appeared in two games last season before being placed on injured reserved on Sept. 16 with a separated shoulder.
In 2012, Ewing had a strong training camp going until he suffered a knee injury in the exhibition season opener against Baltimore.
Ewing was injured on special teams. He went down with 6:56 remaining in the first quarter on the Ravens? second punt of the game. After being helped from the field, Ewing was taken to the locker room on a cart and did not return.
He missed his entire rookie season, but came back strong after that offseason.
Before the injury, the Falcons were counting on Ewing to replace former Pro Bowler Ovie Mughelli. The position has been in a state of flux over the past two seasons. Mike Cox ended up being the main fullback in 2012 and last season Patrick DiMarco held the job.
Last season, the Falcons were confident enough in Ewing?s rehab that they did not extend a tender offer to Cox, who could have served as an insurance policy.
Ewing showed some pass-catching ability and the Falcons were hoping that he could serve as a lead-blocker.
