taking Brian Cushing OLB, USC

Knowshon Moreno is also an option despite his horrendous 40 times - check the 2009 Pro Day Results for details. Moreno, one of the top players available, would take Derrick Ward's place as the team's pass-catching running back, and would be a great insurance policy if Brandon Jacobs gets injured again.

I would really be hesitant to take Moreno .

Against the stiff defenses he got stuffed alot.

I guess Georgias offensive line can be blamed some, but his speed may not allow him to get around the corners in the NFL.

Are the Falcons ready for Prime Time again?
11:13 am April 13, 2009, by D. Orlando Ledbetter

The NFL is set to release the week-by-week schedule for the 2009 season at 7 p.m. tomorrow

Who is going to bring the popcorn when Terrell Owens and the Buffalo Bills come to the Georgia Dome in 2009?
The Falcons already know their opponents.

Home games include: Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Carolina, Philadelphia, Washington, Buffalo, Miami and Chicago.

Away games include: Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Carolina, Dallas, New York Giants, New England, New York Jets and San Francisco.

The Falcons should get at least one Monday night game and possibly a Sunday night game. The away game at New England with Matt Ryan returning to the Boston area should get prime time consideration.

The Falcons will get a chance to see some of the players who left during free agency. Keith Brooking will get a shot at his old team when the Falcons go to Dallas. Linebacker Michael Boley is now with the New York Giants and will host the Falcons in Giants Stadium.

This offseason?s bad boy, Jay Culter, will lead the Chicago Bears into the Georgia Dome. Miami running back Ronnie Brown of Cartersville will get a chance to play in front of some of his hometown folks.

Cartersville's Ronnie Brown.
Also, the Falcons organized team activity schedule was released by the league. Each team is permitted to conduct up to 14 organized training sessions as part of their offseason workout programs

The sessions are supposed to be non-contact, but let?s just say that the big guys get ?tangled? up from time to time.

The Falcons? OTAs are sent for May 20-21, May 26-28, June 2-4, June 9-11 and June 16-18.

.................................................................

I see some games on the Falcons schedule that I already like alot to wager on.

Should be a interesting season.

I love Falcon prime time games. Hope there is 3 but 2 will be a windfall.

yeh I heard it on the Falcons blogs this AM

the guy is 33 yrs old . I dont care if he caught 1000 yds last year, the Falcons dont need no has beens.

young blood is what builds championships.

There are plenty of tight ends in this draft.

Teams are being scared off of Pettigrew because of his slow times in the 40.

I think maybe he will definately be there at 24 and I hope Atl does not take him.

Defense tackle should be a top priority or safety .

Get a tight end later in draft.

good stuff,guys...i really liked what i saw of atlanta last year.....and i look forward to seeing them this year...they should get some primetime exposure as a result of their success last season...

amazing the difference a good young qb can make...

pettigrew would be a real coup...i was actually hoping the ravens might trade up for a pettigrew...or an elite wideout...

probably ain`t happening...if the ravens can`t swing it,i`d be happy to see atlanta ofr the giants get him...enjoyed watching both clubs last year...

Now if KC wants to trade Tony G for Mike Vick

that would be doable. They can have Vick back up Cassell in a small market city where Vick can stay out of trouble.

Falcons? 2009 schedule includes Monday, Sunday night games
By D. ORLANDO LEDBETTER

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

After spending a year in TV exile, the Falcons will return to prime time this season with two nationally televised games.

The Falcons will play a Sunday night game at home against the Chicago Bears on Oct. 18 (8:20 p.m., NBC), and on Monday Night Football at the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 2 (8:30 p.m., ESPN), according to the 2009 season schedule released by the NFL on Tuesday evening.

Based on last season?s records, the Falcons have the fourth-toughest schedule in the league 150-105-1 (.588). Only Miami, Carolina and New England have what seem to be tougher schedules.

?Our 2009 schedule presents a unique set of opportunities,? said Falcons coach Mike Smith in a statement released by the team. ?Including back-to-back home games at the Georgia Dome to begin the year as well as two nationally televised games.?

The Falcons? bye week will be the weekend of Oct. 4-5.

Here?s quick look at the Falcons? 2009 regular-season opponents (home games in BOLD):

? Sept. 13 vs. Miami, 1 p.m.: Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown, of Cartersville, will get to run the Wildcat offense in front of family and friends.

? Sept. 20 vs. Carolina, 1 p.m.: Early battle with quarterback Jake Delhomme and the defending NFC South champs.

? Sept. 27 at New England, 1 p.m.: The Falcons get to see how Patriots quarterback Tom Brady?s knee is holding up.

? Oct. 11, at San Francisco, 4:05 p.m.: Mike Singletary, a former Falcons coaching candidate, is in charge of the 49ers.

? Oct. 18, vs. Chicago, 8:20 p.m.: The Bears get a chance to avenge last season?s last-second loss to the Falcons on national TV.

? Oct. 25, at Dallas, 4:15 p.m.: Linebacker Keith Brooking gets a shot to show the Falcons they gave up on him too early.

? Nov. 2, at New Orleans, 8:30 p.m.: The Falcons return to the league?s regular-season center stage, Monday Night Football.

? Nov. 8, vs. Washington, 1 p.m.: Former Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall makes a return visit to the Georgia Dome.

? Nov. 15, at Carolina, 1 p.m.: The winner of this one could take charge of the NFC South.

? Nov. 22, at New York Giants, 1 p.m.: Linebacker Michael Boley gets a chance to show the Falcons that he?s a physical, three-down linebacker.

? Nov. 29, vs. Tampa Bay, 1 p.m.: Another key NFC South matchup against new Bucs coach Raheem Morris.

? Dec. 6, vs. Philadelphia, 1 p.m.: Former University of Georgia safety Sean Jones is now an Eagle.

? Dec. 13, vs. New Orleans, 1 p.m.: Pivotal NFC South matchup with Drew Brees and the Saints? high-powered passing attack.

? Dec. 20, at New York Jets, 1 p.m.: Jets coach Rex Ryan, like Singletary, once interviewed for the Falcons head job.

? Dec. 27, vs. Buffalo, 1 p.m.: On his last visit to the Georgia Dome, wide receiver Terrell Owens, now with the Bills, spat on DeAngelo Hall.

? Jan. 3, at Tampa Bay, 1 p.m.: This one very likely could have playoff implications

Love the New England and Dallas games.

Cant wait for football again. Is it Sept yet .
