I hope the General Forum is the appropriate venue to talk fantasy football. If not, please let me know and I will post there.

Any help would be appreciated. I draft 9th in a 14 team flex league (wr or rb). I will have the following picks overall:

9, 20, 37, 48, 65, 76, 93, 104, 121, 132, 149, 160 and 177. Pretty standard scoring. Want running backs. Thinkin S. Alexander, Duce McCallister, Ahman Greene may fall to me at 9. Who do you think or someone else?

Also, should I try for Warner, Favre, Culpepper. How high should I get them. I really want to get three good backs to start each week (flex). Thinkin bout McNair and Plummer in 5th or 6th round. Hep me, peas.

I would stay away from Warner, Favre, and Culpepper--especially Culpepper.

You should be able to get Plummer later than the 6th round. I think he has good potential this year. If Alexander or Green is still available at 9, you should probably swallow them up.

Just my 2 cents.

Are you going by cumalative stats and ranking or a point scoring system?

If it's point scoring..have to with a RB in the first round and if their is still a quality back left at #20, have to go with one there as well. If not, I think Culpepper at #20 isn't a bad pick. Those rushing TD's are big bonus at the QB position.

Portis may fall to you as well. He had the best 2nd half of any RB last year. No Dante Culpepper, too many INTs. Try to get a QB that will run for TDs as well as throw for them. RBs are THE MOST important players in FF. If i were you i would make my first three draft picks all RBs. There are plenty of good WRs and there will also be a good QB in later rounds

Gentlemen:

Thanks for the imput. Hoops, its a point scoring system. 6 for td, 3 pt bonus for over 100 rushing/receiving, etc. Any feel on Stephen Davis, as the featured back at Carolina as a 3rd or 4th rounder.

DB, I know Farve and Warner are riskier this year than in the past but why dont you like Dante? I realize the Vikings running game is back to being questionable but he still has Moss and can run.

WareEagle. I like Portis alot but there aint no way he'll be there at #9. I agree to trying to get 3 rbs right away, but if Dante is there at 20, I just dont know.

Y: I'll pay it. After all this is fantasy football. Where do I send my fantasy check.

Yeah, no chance Portis is there at #9.

I'm not a huge Culpepper fan, but in a point scoring system he is going to put-up big numbers.

Little uncertain about Davis, as Carolina has indicated (from what I've read) that they would like to give Foster a decent amount of carries. Then again, it's more than likely that he will get injured and no reason for Carolina to spend all that money on Davis if they aren't going to make him the workhorse.

You usually want to take RB's and WR's for your first 4 picks and then grab you a QB, unless of course it's Vick or McNabb.

Culpepper will see improvement over last year but if ou take him at 20, you'll be the laughing stock of your league (not that you weren't already). :)

I think Culpepper is probably the most over-rated fantasy qb (maybe player). He had one good year for fantasy, and the rest have been lack-luster (compared to where he always gets drafted). He's like Keyshawn Johnson. Every year before this one, someone would pick him up 2-3 rounds too early. On paper, it sounds great, but in reality someone in your league will waste a pick on Culpeper too early. Make sure it is not you.

I would lean towards McCallister. I think he will have a good year. With your next pick you might want to wait on a Q.B. Then at 37 you should be able to get T. Brady,Hasselbeck or Collins.I think once you get out of the top 4 Q.B. its a crap shoot.

Culpepper's stats didn't look great with the INT's last season, but in the type of league Eddie is in, he was one of the Top 10 pt producers for the season. Those extra rushing yds and TD's make a difference.

 Updating Eddie on injury reports is like counciling the pope on religion.

Ed I thought "legal councils" had a seperate fantasy football league where you try and chose team by who you think will get injured and amount of settlement. Special points awarded for discrimination suits from coaches, breach of contract and bonus points for those convicted of murders, rapes ect.:p

Wayne, Wayne, Wayne,

My favorite insurance agent in all of southern Kentucky. You probably have been busy lowering all those malpractice insurance premiums for your medical clients with the passage of tort reform. Thanks for taking time to provide such sage advice to my fantasy football question.

Felonious.....

Felonious.....

LOL! You will be trying to trade for him later this year. Has looked great during preseason practices, TO's should be down signifigantly...he will be back to highlight reel form...and this is not a homer feel...I am pretty objective about these things...

LOL!

But I do need more help at RB's!

Im very big on building around rb's (if you cant tell).
