Fantasy League 1st pick

It's nice to come back from vacation and see all the fantasy talk on the board. During last week I put together my top 180 and found out this morning I'm "stuck" with the #2 pick. I've been offerred the 12th, 13th and a 4th round pick for my slot, which would give me 6 of the first 47 players in our 12-man league. Any thoughts as I am seriously tempted by this offer? I have LT as my #1 and thought about making an agreement with the other owner that if LT is taken #1 we make the deal; if he's available at #2 I probably stick with him. Draft Day is Monday night which will make things interesting for me this weekend...

I assume then that you are giving up your 1st and 2nd round picks (#2 and #23) for the #12 and #13 picks and also his 4th round pick. If so, I might do it but if you are not giving him YOUR 2nd round pick and you actually keep that as well ... you would be crazy not to jump on that trade even if Tomlinson is available. I am actually leaning Portis right now myself if I do not get a good enough offer to trade down but my mind could change again or something could happen in the preseason (like Vick injury) which would affect everything. And I still have 8 days till my draft so which is Saturday, August 30th. I think at #12 and #13 you would definitely be able to get 2 of the following:
QB Donovan McNabb (maybe Culpepper although I prefer McNabb)
RB Edgerrin James
RB Ahman Green
RB Tiki Barber
RB Corey Dillon
RB Fred Taylor
RB Stephen Davis
RB Jamal Lewis
RB Eddie George
WR Marvin Harrison
WR Terrell Owens
WR Randy Moss

Actually, you may be able to take Tomlinson or Portis at #2 and still find one of the above guys (most likely Dillon, Lewis, Davis or Moss) at pick #23. I pick #1 and #20 and I think I will get Tomlinson or Portis and then one of the above mentioned guys. I would like to take McNabb at pick #20 but I seriously doubt he will be there in my league so I will likely do with another back like Lewis, Davis or Dillon ... all of whom I think would be excellent #2 backs. Lightning - Actually this guy has a hard-on for Portis and wants him at #2 since the #1 pick is on the fence with LT and Ricky. Also, I wouldn't have to give my #23 but he is starting to back-off the 4th round pick. I really would like his 4th but would still settle for his 5th which would give me 7 of the first 60 versus 6 of the first 47.

I agree with you that I could land James and Harrision at #12,13 with the hopes of McNabb/Culpepper/Manning waiting at #23. #26 I would probably take another back and wait to see how things fall into place from there. With the extra 4th or 5th round pick I would then hope to steal Gonzalez and hit another WR. At what round have people started to see the TE's start falling? Is the 4th round asking too much? Damn! I can't wait for Monday night and football to start up again.
