there are so many cool guys at MJs, I will miss it ... but I am quitting the rest of the year .... Its not losing the $$$$, b/c I have lost my share, app. what I won last year ... but its the way I have lost games this year, my bigger bets is 4-13 and 9 of those were about as bad as this Buc game (ML, -4, and parlay to sox), Gints MNF, huge ML loss on Fish vs texans (oh yeah fish ats perfect since then) and many many more heartbreakers ...

I have lost the state championship at the buzzer, and yes I cried and yes it hurt seeing my players cry, but losing perspective of life, which has been somewhat happening to me is unforgivable ... gambling has been eating away at me in a negative fashion like never before this year and I dont like how its made me behave in some circumstances, not paying enuff attention to more important things ...

anyhow, this is not life and death, but just a good-bye to lots of great people, I wish you all the best and enjoy life b/c we all know its a one shot deal, not like Vanderjagt's 2 kicks hehe

take care

Gregg, I want to thank you for being a buddy. Your one of the good guy's. I knew you were having some tough beat's as I read your post. I may be right behind you. I quit once because of harrassment, and came back,so I don't want to make the mistake of eating my word's again. If you do leave, you will be missed as you have never shown anything here but class. I know we had some discussion's on the NBA stuff when I was taking some bad beat's,I am sorry some of that same luck jumped on you,but I do consider you a friend. Good Luck,

Gregg, I quite gambling for a while and then came back. I really do know how you feel. I've had some of the worst losses that you could imagine. Just when I thought I would have enough to pay off all my credit card debt and have a little left over for myself, the BUCS get an extra point blocked and I lose a moneyline parlay that only needed Tampa to beat Carolina.

I woke up today with the thought of 11 extra UNITS in my account until I hit the review wager button and saw to my surprise that I was -UNITS for the night.

Gambling has really changed my life, and not for the better.
I recently just came back with 5 UNITS in my account, and said this is it. I have tripled that amount, and it could have been more if not for those crazy losses.

I wish you good luck with whatever comes your way. We all have these bad beats, but it's when to know to stop them, and you are going to stop them now. Good Luck.

Hang in there pt1gard - hope you decide to stick around...i can tell by all of the posts from last night & today that a lot of people seem to be leaving because of last nights game - I hope your decision is not based on last nights game - i mean it is just one game - but if you are no longer having fun w/ playing the games - then it is good for you to take a break...after all this is about making money & having fun...I know losing games like the one last night can be hard to take - but don't let it get you down...it is just one game...I wish you the best of luck pt1gard!

The big thing i have been reading today is that 3/4 of the people seem to have been on TB...I posted yesterday that I just got back from Vegas & from hanging around the sportsbood & listening to everyone I talked to was on TB...TB was the huge public favorite - so that is another reason i felt great about being on the Colts...the public always ends up losing in the long run...so my advice to everyone is GO AGAINST THE PUBLIC...if everyone is on one side - play the opposite...best advice i can give you...it doesn't work all the time & if you really have a strong feeling that the public is right, then of course go with it...but most of the time if you are having a hard time capping a game - focus on what Joe Public is doing - and do the opposite...

Another perfect example of this was this past Sunday I was in Vegas at a sportsbook & was watching the Cubs & Browns/Steelers game...now I was on the under for the Browns/Steelers game (which lost by 4 pts)...and I didn't have a play on the side of the game...well the guy i was sitting next to had a grand on the Steelers & I was talking to him & he was already down $5,000 on the day...and i knew before kickoff i should have taken the Browns - because him & these 2 other guys walk in decked out in their old steelers jerseys & worn out Steelers hats & each of them put a few hundered on the steelers & were being very loud & obnoxious saying how the steelers would win by 21 & how the Browns didn't have a chance...well almost everyone in the sportsbook was on the Steelers & well we all know that the Browns came out strong & went to halftime w/ a big lead....

Well when the halftime line came out it was Steelers -6.5 and over/under 21 - well needless to say the guy who had the grand went and told me - the steelers are going to crush the browns & he went and put another $1,000 on the steelers 2nd half and another $1,000 on the 2nd half over - and i saw eveyone else on the steelers & over for the 2nd half - well the book moved the line to Steelers -7 & o/u 21.5 - and i know the supervisor at this sportsbook - so i went to talk to him & to make a play on the Browns & the under (faded the public) - I was the only one on the Browns & the under for the 2nd half in the sportsbook he told me - and said those were the side to be on - needless to say - they both covered...and the "public" was not happy after the result of the game - when i cashed it i talked to the supervisor again & he said "nice to fade the public isn't it" - and I couldn't agree more...i really don't know why more people weren't on the Colts last night - TB was the heavy public favorite...

I just wish everyone that is mad about losing the TB game will go back & see that TB was the huge public favorite & next time think about fading the public...and also to see why Indy was the right side to be on...

I have been here for almost 2 months as a member but watched on the sidelines for a while. You are a class act. I know what you mean when you say gambling eats away at you negativly. I've been there and either if your winning or losing, it does not work for a person mental prepective on life. Gambling is a risk as we all know, sometimes we pray for it to work in our favour but our God does not work with money.

I wish you all the best and good luck with whatever you do! You will be missed but I'm sure I will see you around at least chatting it up.. U da man!!

Good Luck! Life is more than money, life is an adventure which you should enjoy with the things that mean the most to you. Family, friends and good health should always be #1.. and #2.

Farewell my ass! Get your ass back in here, you pussy!:D

Just because you ain't wagering, doesn't mean you can't hang out here now, does it?? Just like Gardenweasel said, we can't have all the good guys leave now, especially with all these phony newbies popping up all over the place.

But if you still decide to take off, I'd understand. You've got to find that balance between real life and wagering. I take about 5, 6 breaks every year just to keep my head clear from it.

Hope to see you back soon, gregg. Take care, buddy.:toast:

Pt Gd,
You are reading from someone that knows about losing state basketball championships.I lost 3.Never on the last second shot but by 11,5,and 4.
But I look at it like I never failed.I made mistakes but never failed.
"You never fail if you know in your heart that you did the best of which you were capable".I know I did my best and never look back on it.
There is only one person on earth that knows if you made your best effort. It's not your wife, girlfriend, parents, sisters brothers, children, etc.
The only person who knows is you.And you can't fool yourself.

If posting and capping are effecting your own personel life then take a break from it.Your job and family come first. If these things you do here are having an impact on your future then you need a "timeout".

Like any timeout in a game you adjust, and make changes.
You have no control of the past. You have no idea what is in the future.Your only control is the present.

Take that time out.Maybe it will be weeks or months.
Winning games,titles,sectionals,regionals are all great.
But the "journey" getting there is the "high".

I want to thank you for all the insight and many "props" you gave me.
Please keep in touch and e-mail.I still got a great out of bounds play that will score vs. any zone.
Take the full 60 second timeout and hopefully you can come comeback.
You will be missed......A lot of the above comes from me being a disciple of John Wooden.Other then his 2-2-1 zone I was never a follower of his X and O's.But about his lifetime observations and reflections on and off the court he is 2nd only to God.

thanx box, ar, chuck, cry, ddubs, show & tupac

havent really missed not betting this week i must say, but your words are very kind ...

Box, wooden is my man, and UR also into his tenets I can see, he was the master--I went to one of his practices when I first got into coaching, it was amazing, then i saw him speak after he retired, got his Pyramid talk on tape, and all his books, the greatest coach ever in any sport, I will say t mym death--thanx for the kind words my man... oh yeah we lost another state final after leading at half but it wasnt close at end, but we did get 2 crowns too, so Ive been on all sides, and its all good :)

Ddubs, hehe, Pussy huh? "why im my country those are fighting words (too bad we aint in my country"--said Groucho one time ;) maybe I will post a few BD losers now and then, I am so friggin proficient at those :) .. gl in nhl my man!!

chuckman, tupac and AR, you are nice, classy guys and I appreciate all your kind thoughts and heart felt words :)

Showrunner, i know U meant well in sharing your words--and thank you, but dont think for a sec you and 100% of gamblers wouldnt have ripped up that Colt ticket (and taken a push) at end of 1q, halftime, end of 3q, with 4 mins left, and even after failed onside kick, but anyhow, that's fball and you won, enjoy it--you will be on other side sometime and realize all that crap is a coin flip not whether the public loaded up or not, not criticizing you, just giving ya my POV

anyhow, too all, once again
a mighty thanx
your friend, gregg
