Bubba Watson(55/1) e.w.
- - His putting and short game have been in really good order, and his driving can be a big advantage if it holds up. My real question is whether he sputters early this week vs. "getting untracked" and engaged early, and I think there's a decent chance it's the latter, in which case I further think he'll be up for putting up a good fight, again.
Kevin Stadler(150/1) e.w.
- - Hopefully the best thing to come out of last week was having a couple of my players in contention, which kept me involved and watching lots of golf during the TV telecasts. I definitely thought I was seeing a vein of form from Stadler, kind of thought I saw a confident bounce that would have some legs, and now he takes his good driving to the familiar and inspiring ocean cliffs of Torrey Pines, with plenty of that pop/son vibe floating around on the faces and tongues of his peers and other acquaintances operating inside the ropes and in his orbit.
Charles Howell(33/1) e.w.
- - The word I heard was he put in his usual focus and hard work during the off season, so this "pal of Tiger" has been on my radar and registering well, but in this early season he's not yet really landed in the business end of the final proceedings.
Jeff Quinney(100/1) e.w.
- - I've been seeing what I've been hoping and more or less expecting to see.
