Is there any reason why anyone is betting the Chargers besides the fact that they ''have to win''? And ''can't go to NE down 0-3''? It looks like one of those sucker plays that has no good stats to back it up . Giants are doing well right now.

no opinion on game

but if you are looking for reasons not to bet the giants try these:

- 5 days off after playing a monday nite game

- cross country trip

- first road game of the year

- eli manning is going to be treated like the bitch he is for saying he didn't want to play for the chargers. both fans and linemen will attempt to make him regret his decision

- tomlinson wants to show why he is a better fit than manning anyway

That's all great, but the Chargers have some questions to answer. For instance, why haven't they thrown the ball to LT yet? I think if they do that, they get mismatches against linebackers and they move the ball.

And has Drew Brees forgotten what color his team wears? He has thrown the ball to the wrong color every game.

Chargers have room for improvement, and I think they will improve, but I can't see laying 5+ on them this week.

The Chargers haven't been "all that" this year, thats for sure. But before you get ready to annoit the Giants with you N.Y bias, take a look at their wins a little closer. Against the Saints they capitalized on a few opportunities such as:

Fred McAfee fumbles on the opening kickoff return ? Giants TD
Aaron Brooks intercepted in the second quarter ? Giants TD
Aaron Brooks fumbles ? Giants FG
Aaron Brooks intercepted at the Giants? 27 yard line ? Drive killed
Joe Horn fumble at pylon ? Touchback for Giants
Aaron Brooks intercepted in the Giants? endzone ? Drive killed

Throw in a missed FG, and this game was a gift for the Giants.

Even in the Week 1 42-19 blowout against Arizona, the Cardinals outgained the G-men. Yes, the only stat that matters is what is on the scoreboard, but I don?t see the Giants keeping this up once the better teams hit the schedule.

Let?s keep focusing on the offense a bit. Eli Manning is still completing less than 50% of his pass attempts, and I am much less confident about his accuracy downfield (case in point, his overthrow of Tim Carter on Monday night on what should have been an easy touchdown).

Don't like this game period, Chargers have great tools to work with but just haven't shown they're handy enough to take advantage...while the G-man have been the fortunate recipients of alot of unfortunate events of opposing teams...i can understand the line...but can't feel comfortable laying or taking points on either side here given way to many question marks...good luck all

also chargers can easily be 2-0,gints wins over cards &aints at home..manning has yet to win a road game..got to admit though i got alot of $$ riding on this one ml also, and in starting to worry.to many people on the chargers,if the line goes up 7 ,7.5 ill fell better .

The line is down to 6 at pinny...

Big blue have weapons on offense

If Manning keeps growing up...

He has some good hands to throw too...

Toomer..Shockey...Plaxico and Tiki out
of the backfield

Tough to gauge the Gmen...If the line stays
at 6,i might jump on the Gmen for a small play

Moe, The local papers here have the Charger players toning down the Manning situation and even saying he probably did the right thing. They got the better of the deal in the draft anyway. Also, as of Thursday the game was 13-1500 from being sold out. This is not a football town. The visiting team always has the edge here. The year before last they were 4-12. To date they are 0-2.

dan, thxs for the info ,but that wasnt a factor in me betting the bolts,i just love betting on teams that i think will show up 110 % at home vs a team thats very happy to be 2-0 ,and would of took 2-1 after 3 weeks before the season started.you couls say that the chargers playoff hopes are just about on the line.

Agree, the Chargers have the edge at the skill positions as well.

:iagree:

Brees (Pro Bowl QB) is better than Eli (never won an away game)

Tomlinson is better than Tiki and fumbles alot less

Gates is arguably better than Shockey

Don't get me wrong about the Chargers. I'm very hesitant to lay 6 with this group. They haven't impressed me much this year and I think their record last year reflected their easy schedule more than anything. But the Giants haven't done anything to warrant serious backing as yet, especially away from home.

JcJunk may have hit the nail on the head, about the color that Drew throws to.

I cant find the info but:

What colors are the Chargers wearing on Sunday?

I dont know the actual numbers but if they wear those ugly baby blue uniforms , ( i know everyone loves those) i mena come on baby blue?, anyway if they wear them they win, i think their record is something like a bunch-1 , i mena they have only loss once with those uniforms.

BTW im on th G-men.
