Wright State @ Detroit

These two teams will be meeting for the third time this year. Both won on their home floors. Detroit winning 68-63 in Detroit while Wright State winning on their home floor 67-64. This line baffles the hell out of me and I was tempted to make this a 10 unit play.....WHY? Several reasons. First, the two previous games were decided by 5 or less points. Second, this is the first round of the Horizon League Conference Tournament, so if Detroit gets up big (which I feel would be very surprising to see and don't think will happen) they may want to rest some of the players for the next round which would give us a great chance for a back door cover.....What I see happening though is Wright State coming in here led by two players (Seth Doliboa and Vernard Hollins) and fighting for their lives to move on. Doliboa is a great all around player who does it all. He this game close and the outcome will be decided in the last minute.....Hell, we could even see an upset but at bare minimum we get the back door......

Nebraska @ Oklahoma

This game should be a BLOW OUT! Nebraska is plain horrible in a Powerhouse conference playing one of the top teams in this Power conference on their home court. The Corn Huskers lost by 14 @Baylor, 17 @Mizzou, 26 @TX Tech, 10 @Iowa St, 24 @ KState, and 33 @Kansas.....Meanwhile, Oklahoma has been dominant in the first halves of their home conference games leading at the half by 21 vs Kansas, 12 vs OKSt, 29 vs Baylor, 12 vs A&M, 1 vs TX Tech, and 12 vs Colorado......All these teams are leading Nebraska in the Big 12 Standings. I read a post earlier that made reference to the coaches being good friends, and that is very true! Coupled with that is the fact that the Sooners have looked different in the second halves of their games and they have a HUGE match-up vs Texas at home on Saturday afternoon and won't want to risk injuries late. That being said I look for Oklahoma to come out strong, build an early lead (covering the 1 Half number) and resting the latter part of the second.

Syracuse @ Notre Dame

Cuse has won 5 in a row and 7 of the last 8 including games @Gtown, @Mich St, and home games vs. Notre Dame, GTown, and Pitt. They have won Villanova3 straight vs the Irish and 8 of the last 9. They are tied for the Big East West Division lead with Pitt who they have split with this year and are playing for a first round bye in the Big East Conference Tourn. They are playing with a great deal of confidence with Warrick and Anthony. Anthony is so gone after this year and will want to use these final games to his advantage for next years NBA draft. I can see them making this their third straight big road win but at minimum covering the 5 points. (I got it from my local, if you get 4.5...buy the half!) Notre Dame has only covered 3 of the last 8 games, is on a two game losing stread (@Rutgers and UConn at home) and are only 5-7-1 ATS as a home favorite. They are playing their final home game of the season that will be SR Matt Carroll's last and they can still get a first round bye in the conference tourn (awarded to top 4 teams in the conference), but Syracuse continues its dominance over a team that I feel is built with better athletes!

Villanova @ Boston College

Villa is on the down swing losing 2 straigh and 3 of last 4. They were blown out by VTech (a poor team IMO) by 25 points. BC on the other hand has won 5 in a row 7 of the last 9 and are tied with Uconn for the Big East East division lead. They are beginning to click and play like the team that many had predicted to be a contender during the pre-season. Buy the hook and look for them to cover the five at home. I feel a double digit victory coming here.

2 games that I am not playing but will offer my thoughts:

I like Florida to win outright in Georgia, but with Georgia losing to Kentucky I am staying away from this high calibur match-up. Florida has won the last 2 vs. Georgia, 7 of the last 10 and has come out with SU wins in the last 4 IN ATHENS. They are 3-1 as away dogs: @Kansas +2.5 won 83-73, @Maryland +5 won 69-64, @Miss St +7 won 74-66 and recently @Kentucky +4.5 lost 55-70 (to the team that I think is playing like the best team in the country right now).....I hate admitting that being a Hoosier Fan! Florida is 9-3 on the road this year and have not played a ton of pudding pops. Georgia is coming off a BIG Home loss that they actually played very good defense in and they are a 6-4-1 as Home Favs. I am staying away from the game though.

Minny @ those beloved HOOSIERS

I can not put into words how big of a Hoosier fan I am and how involved I get myself with these guys, those who know me personally could verify! Saying that I can honestly say that this is a team that I watch, study, and know more about then any at any level in any sport.....and I still have NO IDEA what kind of opinion to present on what they will do in any given night. We have seen them come out (early in the season) and climb the ranks with tough defense, great long range shooting, and good rebounding from Newton and Leach.....but in the second half of the season they have come out looking like a totally different team more times then not. This is their final home game of the season and it will be a special one as they will be saying good bye to former Indiana High School Mr. Basketball Tom Coverdale as well as Kyle Hornsby and Jeffrey Newton. I expect big nights from all three and would hope to see with these guys playing their hearts out for the Hoosier fans in B-Town one last time an Indiana team more like the one we witnessed in the first half of the season then the one I have painfully been watching in the second. Davis has been preaching to the team to FOCUS on being the BEST TEAM in the Month of March! They admit that they have played poorly in the final days of December, January, and February, but none of that will matter if they can be the BEST in March! Its my opinion that you will see an Indiana team put a lot more effort and intensity into this game and the games from here on out then what we have seen in the last 2.5 months. Minny is tough though and won't go down easy. They too are fighting for an NCAA berth, but unfortuantely for them they are having to prepare for IU in one day (they played Sunday, losing to Wisc @ home) and had to fly to Bloomington yesterday with only a short cram coarse on IU.......Then they have to deal with Sr Night!!!! I think IU rolls tonight, but then again this is coming from a Homer fan and I am NOT putting my money on them! GO IU!!!
