I thought it be interesting to see everybody's taste of their favorite uniforms of all the college football teams. List your top 5.
Here are my top 5. All home colors.

1) USC Trojans
2) Notre Dame
3) Michigan
4) Penn St.
5) Ohio St.

Looks like my top 5 are all tradition filled programs. In addition, 3/5 teams do not put names on the back of their jerseys. I respect that. The player must be recognized through great play and everyone is part of a team.

kinda feel like we're discussing fashion design with a thread on interior decorating to follow, but here goes:

in no particular order:

florida state when they wear the maroon jerseys AND pants

michigan home jerseys (blue jerseys, maize pants)

miami, ohio when they wear the red jerseys AND pants

oregon when they wear the mustard jerseys

hawaii when they wear the black jerseys AND pants

needless to say, im a big fan of a consistent color with the jerseys and pants (unless its two colors other than white, e.g michigan home jerseys)

white jerseys with dark pants makes it look like the equipment manager forgot to pack the correct uniform tops.

1. Washington Huskies -- gotta go w my boys
2. Texas A&M -- they keep their uni's clean
3. Florida -- love the orange
4. SC -- my old high school colors
5. UNLV -- have grown on me out here in Sin City

Been meaning to ask you Scott, do you know whether or not Keary Colbert & the all-Pac 10 OL who is graduating, went to Oxnard High. I am pretty sure that Whitney Lewis went there. That is the high school I attended & I take a little bit of pride in the Trojans recent accomplishments because of these guys. I know they are from Oxnard, but dont what school(s) they went to. Dont know for sure about Colbert & the OL, whose name escapes me right now. I also played w Lewis older brother, Kenyon, who was a stud too til he cracked his knee. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Keary Colbert Oxnard, CA (Hueneme)

Jacob Rogers Oxnard, CA (Oxnard) :thumb: Very good story. Came to USC not a highly recruited Tight End. He beefed up, and in the last 2 years has not given up a QB sack at left tackle.

Whitney Lewis Oxnard, CA (St. Bonaventure)

I notice Washington is the team you root for. I thought Washington had really cool uniforms until they changed them. Do you like these new ones they got couple years ago? I much preferred the older ones. Purple and Gold.

I also been meaning to ask your opinion about the dominance of USC now in the Pac 10. Are you happy about it? I know it brings positives and negatives towards the Pac 10. Do you see Washington back at the top of the Pac 10 where they belong? I think CAL might be the 2nd best program now in the Pac 10.
USC and Washington are my 2 favorite Pac 10 teams and both have the most Pac 10 tradition as well. Do you like Gilby?

Scott do you have anything to contribute other than posts about USC or finding a backhanded way to praise USC?

Actually if you seen most of my mosts they have been about Pac 10 vs SEC, nothing about USC specifically. I guess you ignored those posts. Oh yeah, there is plenty of reason USC should be talked about. NC, #1 recruiting class, #1 pre-season for next year. If you do not like it do not open up the threads. If nobody participated, then I would have little talk about USC and this forum would be dead.

The last 10 threads I started. 2 directly deal with USC. SO 20% of my threads I start directly deal with USC.

C'mon ctown its not whose uni's are the best, it's whose are your favorite. You already know what the man is about, why not stay out of his posts, if they get you this upset. I'm a little interested in who likes whose uni's only because it gives me a little glimpse into who you are.

I think you just like to pile on Scott cause it's the popular thing to do in this forum. Hey, look bbk & Mr Hockey, I just called Scott an f'n moron. Can I hang out w you guys now? Seems like you're the one in need of a life.

uh scott, you're making lists of the titles of your threads. go ahead and take a peek inside and come back with a list of how many times you've managed to fuse the words "USC" and "#1" in every sentence you've rattled out on your keyboard. so YES, everything you comment about deals with USC, whether directly or not.

what classification are you at SC? you're not the sharpest tool in the shed, that's for sure.

Scott

SC's recent success makes my dick hurt! To be perfectly honest!

I prefer the older uni's to the new, but I'd love UW if they played in T-shirts & sweatpants!

I hate to say it, but I see my boys sliding to the middle of the pack in the Pac 10. I wish we could have found a way to keep Neuheisel -- I think he was on his way to restoring our rightful position as the best football program in the Pac 10. Gilby lost to AZ -- nuff said!

Cant believe Rogers is the only one who went to OHS, & I couldnt remember his name.

I'd still rate WSU & Oregon ahead of Cal, but it's hard not to be impressed w what Tedford has done in his short time there. My wife's nephew blew out his knee in his redshirt yr @ Cal -- the yr before the 1-10 season. He really liked Tedford, when the change was made. Sad part is my wife's nephew passed on a minor league contract w the Atlanta Braves to go to Cal. He played TE in football, catcher in baseball & won a state championship in BBall w two star players who ended up at UCSB. Cal honored his scholy & he just graduated this past summer.

I'll have to think about it.

I do love the Gators uniforms but that might sound a little biased. I also like the Canes uniforms. I'll have to think of another 3.

Have a bunch that I like - but I hate when Texas wears all white - makes them look naked to me or something.

Off the top of my head - Top 5
1) Penn State - Dark Blue jersey/white pants
2) Notre Dame Green Jersey - rare but very sharp.
3) Kansas St - Like how the purple jerseys look with the Silver helmet.
4) Michigan St - Like how the helmets look, especially the white logo on the Green background - the Green jerseys are pretty solid too.
5) Alabama - just very classy, numbered helmets are a nice touch.

:nooo:

Truly pathetic.

I was about to just skip this thread like Scott has suggested in the past, because I already knew that USC was going to be #1. But, the suspense killed me because I thought, just for a minute, that Scott may have picked someone other than USC as #1. Hell, he could have even picked them as #2 and I would have been impressed. I guess I should trust my instincts next time.

Mansa,
I think you just like to pile on Scott cause it's the popular thing to do in this forum. Hey, look bbk & Mr Hockey, I just called Scott an f'n moron. Can I hang out w you guys now? Seems like you're the one in need of a life.
Don't fall into this trap, Mansa. Do you really believe we are piling on his case for the hell of it? You seem to be every bit as pro-USC as Scott. But, no one is piling on your case and for good reason. Its obvious why we respect you and not him. You have made a distict point to distance yourself from Scott's views in other threads, and I think you should continue. I think you have been vocal about it because you too, see Scott for the homer he is and you want no part of it. The name calling is immature, yes, but I would use caution in supporting his homer nature. This thread is a perfect example of Scott's true colors. It will never change.

Anyway, here's my top 5:

1. Memphis Tigers (I think the bright blue and tiger logo is beautiful)
2. Florida State (Stunning)
3. Marshall (another beautiful uni)
4. Kentucky (nice, again - I like this shade of blue)
5. Louisville (nice too)

I forgot to add Kansas St. and Syracuse. Both have good home unis.

Suprised not seeing USC in top 5's of a few of you. I guess you do not like Cardinal and Gold. That is ok by me, just a little suprised. I think USC unis are sharp looking.

Stuman, i may be biased in liking USC unis the best, but I really do. SO why would lie? 2nd, why didn't you say the same thing to mansa_musa about Washington? I even rated USC rival ND 2nd, and I hate ND. So I never let my feelings cloud my judgment.

Scott - to be honest I hate the USC color combo - just not a fan of how the Cardinal and Gold go together, but have to say if I ranked mascots the Trojans are in the top ten for sure, maybe top five.

why didn't you say the same thing to mansa_musa about Washington?

Last time I checked, every post that Mansa makes doesn't ultimately point back to an excuse to praise/worship Washington. I think it is crystal clear!

...and you put (non USC) beside most posts. Every single thread you mentioned contains your pro-USC mentality. Not that being pro USC is bad or anything, its just way too excessive and dominating every thread in here.

You should take Mansa's approach and you would get tons more respect in here..(not that you really care)

Stuman,

Do you really believe we are piling on his case for the hell of it?

Not you specifically, but, yes! When I first replied to this post the only other reply was from ctownguy, who added nothing other than animosity toward Scott, which I feel could have been left out. Every time Scott posts there are several posts just like that. It becomes tiresome to read that stuff when everybody should know what Scott is about from the jump. Just can't see why his love for SC causes so much hatred.

I think you have been vocal about it because you too, see Scott for the homer he is and you want no part of it.

Again, yes! But, I also think some of his opinions are dead on! I can appreciate that w/o making a point to call him out for going overboard w SC info. Scott shares my opinion that the Pac 10 is a stronger conf than most people give it credit for, and he posted alot of info to support that opinion. I, personally, cant find a reason to disrespect the man after he has done something that I feel has helped me. I would stand up & defend you as well, if I felt you were being attacked unfairly, now that you have shown me some respect.

You seem to be every bit as pro-USC as Scott.

In my earlier reply, I stated that I took pride in a few kids at SC who I thought went to my old HS -- turns out they are all from my hometown, but only one went to my alma mater. I grew up in southern CA, & its actually easier for me to get info on SC, UCLA, Cal & Stanford than my Huskies. Had a boss who was a UW grad, but we no longer work together so my info sources are limited right now. Dont have the time, or hunger, to search the net for info. More than happy just to watch the games & make my own value judgments when the season rolls around.

Scott,

Also, wanted to say this when I found out that Whitney Lewis went to St Bonaventure. It has been a truism in my hometown that the big time athletes who attend the smaller high schools usually dont pan out because they dont face anybody of like talent in those 2A schools, which are private schools who recruit some of their athletes -- the rest are just rich kids playing for the fun of the game. I've seen so many hoop & football players from Santa Clara & St Bonnie get plenty of hype for dominating at the high school level, but the better talent (in Oxnard at least) is usually at the bigger schools OHS, Hueneme & Channel Islands. I'll keep my eye out for Lewis, but, I thought last yr, w the way Carroll likes to play freshmen, that he would have got some playing time. I'm afraid he might turn out to be another one of those over rated players who played against weak comp & cant make it when they have to play w the big boys. All of my comments are made having never seen the kid play, so take them w a grain a salt.
