not mentioned yet: Henry Fonda, Brando and Bogart, even Bogart plays Bogart no matter what's the movie :0002

outside US

Klaus Kinski

Takashi Shimura

Henry Fonda - Really good actor. Not in top 20 anymore.
Brando - The first actor to not act like it's theater and become the character. I'd put him above any top ten list. The benchmark.
Bogart - uh....no.

Favorite movie: Apocalypse.Now. It's a movie that i return to watch at least once a year.

from Bogart pretty obviously Casablanca, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and Maltese Falcon, i said Bogart because his movies are easy to watch usually decent movies from their era. He wouldn't make it to any "best actor" lists...

in black&white era i like movies like High Explosive, On the beach, Moby Dick and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari & Kurosawa movies etc

I was thinking OLD actors that have since passed but if 70 counts the greatest actor of all time is Meryl Streep.

Then I can also count Jack Nicholson. You can't forget Gene Hackman and he might even count as an old actor. Al Pacino and on and on and on and on.

:0008

Denzel Washington ain't 'old' he's my age. :scared

My bad....

Old time actors should be those that retired....

Denzel didn't belong on the list....& neither does Nicholson & Streep....

Gene Hackman is retired & real great natural actor....
