Lines are tight this week. I had a really strong week last week. I sit watching the lines as they get put up and I hit games as soon as the lines open. It allows me to get some lines before line movement. i.e. NDSU -3 last week and others.

There is one FCS vs FBS matchup I really like. Hoping for a little more line movement.
Austin Howard is out again this week for Southern. They will be starting the QB that started the 2nd half vs SM Lee. He looked a little less lost than the other guy but still this is not Howard and Southern will struggle to score.

I hate playing huge faves but
SDSU -45: Drake is so outmatched. They will be lucky to score and SDSU can score as much as they want. USD has, arguably, a more explosive offense and they hung 70 on Drake while SDSU is at home and a better team. This could get real ugly. This is a top 5 FCS team playing a non-scholarship pioneer league school which is also where I started my college career. This one gets ugly. 63-3

Robert Morris +3: Listen we are asking a bad team to beat a bad team- But I like RMU's defense and I believe they may be able to pitch a shutout here. They beat Dayton in week one which will turn out to be a great win because Dayton will, most likely, win the PFL. VMI will have backup QB again. RMU at home too much.

Columbia pk: Columbia is getting there. They are not going to rival for the Ivy title but they are getting there. They are playing there 1st game while Wagner is on their 3rd. Game is dubbed the "Battle of the Boroughs" this is 3rd year playing and Columbia has won 1st two. Wagner will try to keep the game low scoring. Columbia the better team at home and just needs to win.

URI +7; Harvard will probably win the Ivy League. URI really battled vs Stony Brook and despite losing handily they lost because of mistakes. The offense is pretty good and I think they can stay in this game and win SU. SMall one

Portland State -5: This spread has jumped tremendously and I urge caution laying 2 td's. Dan Hawkins is new coach of UC davis. He has made the team pass happy. This Portland State team has played BYU and Oregon state and afforded themselves very well. They have a decent secondary and a good pass rush. If it gets into a shootout I like Portland State's QB and team. I think PSU wins by 2 TD's. 38-24 or thereabouts. I like this one but line movement makes it tough.

Southern Utah +4.5: UNI defense was exposed vs Cal Poly. A WEAK cal poly team that was able to do what ever they wanted AT UNI. Now they have to travel to SUU and win? Man that is going to be tough... the MVFC is the better conference but the Big Sky holds their own. I think this is going to be a tough slobberknocking battle. SUU put up over 600 total yards on the road vs SFA. UNI defense is stronger but this SUU offense is pretty good.

Fordham Under 75; I may be crazy- Normally Fordham is a straight over team but with Edmonds hurt and the way the season has started for both teams I think we see a get back to basics type game. Lots of rushes. lets hope we can limit turnovers and explosive plays and we will a 41-24 type game.

I have a few more but I have not put the full amount of my wager in yet so I am not going to cover them, yet.

I played 2 FBS plays:
Purdue +7.5; I dont think Mizzoo should be laying points to a big ten school
Illinois +17; I like what Illinois is doing and I am not a Charley Strong fan. Think he needs to go back to coaching defense only.

Some awesome games this week- The battle of the Dakotas, UTM vs UTC and the ivy league finally gets going. a couple more totals and sides later in the week.

You a native Iowan then, Musca?
I'm old enough to remember when Drake was decent at football and offered scholarships.
Good luck with your smaller school plays

Drake

Drake

I started at Drake in 97... Was there from 97-99 and then transferred to the U of MN. I graduated from high school in Southern Ohio.

Loved Des Moines... It was the natural progression for me being from small town Ohio it was my first intro to "big city"

Nice. Des Moines is quite the town these days. 500k in the metro area.
Ever go to El Bait Shop while living there?
Huge beer selection and great Mexican food then a quick walk to the ball park for some Iowa cubs baseball.

Was just a poor college kid.... A couple of addons

Was just a poor college kid.... A couple of addons

I worked at Christophers and the Des Moines Club while there in addition to my campus employment. I did not get to go out much. When I did I went to this dive away from campus that would serve me despite being underage and having a baby face. It was called the Triangle Tap or something like that.

Delaware Under 45: Delaware has played 2 low scoring games, relatively, and now they play Cornell in their opener. I think we see a low scoring battle. Delaware offense struggles a bit and Cornell has opening game jitters. Tight one but just a small play.

Morehead State +17; Austin Peay has lost 27+ straight games and now they are laying 2 tds+? They should win the game but a blowout? APSU has a new RPO offensive style and has stayed in 2 games vs FBS foes. This could be a blowout but Morehead St offense is not awful... OVC a tougher conference this year. Closer than we think.

Colgate +9 and +250: Colgate team is pretty damn good. When I look for upsets like this I am looking for a team that can score but also has a good defense. Colgate in upstate NY would love to beat Buffalo. Buffalo coming off TOUGH loss last week. I like this one... Max pay ATS and 35 on the moneyline.

Richmond... Waiting on this line to keep dropping. Howard is a decent team. Newton a decent QB but Richmond will be the best team they have played so far no comparison. Richmond would beat UNLV and Kent St. Lauleta is a good QB and the coach at UR knows how to do this. Remember Newton is a frosh and he is relatively small stature... He takes a lot of hits. I expect the whirlwind media storm following this Howard team is taking energy from them... The school set a fund drive at $43.40 in fact... I think this one gets ugly. 44-20 or thereabouts.

I have one more but I am waiting on line to move again so I can hit it again. I will post in the morning or this evening.

Tap...

Tap...

The Triangle Tap... Its not near campus and its a hole in the wall place... I would go in there and shoot pool drink Jim Beam with Beer back... I was 18/19 years old. Its a memory... Not sure its a fond memory or not lol. I got into with a guy in there because I kept beating his ass in 8 ball. After the 5 or 6 consecutive loss he threw the stick and said you are not even supposed to be in here... LOL.

Man, that seems like so long ago... 20 years this year. Its amazing how time flies. I remember going to a local spot with Cr8ton Jr and watching NCAA tournament ball... I met him on the forums over at Ibettor.com

Small world and the internet, sometimes, makes it so much smaller.

Lets win some money!

Stepping Out

Stepping Out

I am absolutely confused by line movement. I am stepping out:

Colgate +24.5 and +1500; I really liked Colgate at +8.5 and now picking up the extra 16... Wow... I have stepped out here.

Nc A&T +13.5 and +425: Wrong Team favored. This A&T team is good and despite the loss of Cohen they can score.

These are both large plays for me.

Boy that Colgate game did not go anyway near what I thought it would. The RPO hurry offense Buffalo ran in the 1st half Colgate just could not stop it. They were missing so many tackles. We really could have seen a half time score of 27-14 but c'est la vie. I will take the backdoor cover.

Nc A&T went conservative way too early but I am very pleased with how this game went. Really went how I expected it. The aggies had a good amount of people at the stadium too... Awesome.

I am glad that it helped. Overall has a great day because of the 2 large plays. UC davis looked great and the youth of Portland State showed. I am excited about next week. TIme to go to work.

I played A&T on your recommendation... Nice call.. Wish I had played the ML.... Of course I was all over Robby Morris as VMI is arguably the worst team in the Nation..... Too bad the value will be drained away pretty quickly.... Nice Work
