Lines are tight this week. I had a really strong week last week. I sit watching the lines as they get put up and I hit games as soon as the lines open. It allows me to get some lines before line movement. i.e. NDSU -3 last week and others.
There is one FCS vs FBS matchup I really like. Hoping for a little more line movement.
Austin Howard is out again this week for Southern. They will be starting the QB that started the 2nd half vs SM Lee. He looked a little less lost than the other guy but still this is not Howard and Southern will struggle to score.
I hate playing huge faves but
SDSU -45: Drake is so outmatched. They will be lucky to score and SDSU can score as much as they want. USD has, arguably, a more explosive offense and they hung 70 on Drake while SDSU is at home and a better team. This could get real ugly. This is a top 5 FCS team playing a non-scholarship pioneer league school which is also where I started my college career. This one gets ugly. 63-3
Robert Morris +3: Listen we are asking a bad team to beat a bad team- But I like RMU's defense and I believe they may be able to pitch a shutout here. They beat Dayton in week one which will turn out to be a great win because Dayton will, most likely, win the PFL. VMI will have backup QB again. RMU at home too much.
Columbia pk: Columbia is getting there. They are not going to rival for the Ivy title but they are getting there. They are playing there 1st game while Wagner is on their 3rd. Game is dubbed the "Battle of the Boroughs" this is 3rd year playing and Columbia has won 1st two. Wagner will try to keep the game low scoring. Columbia the better team at home and just needs to win.
URI +7; Harvard will probably win the Ivy League. URI really battled vs Stony Brook and despite losing handily they lost because of mistakes. The offense is pretty good and I think they can stay in this game and win SU. SMall one
Portland State -5: This spread has jumped tremendously and I urge caution laying 2 td's. Dan Hawkins is new coach of UC davis. He has made the team pass happy. This Portland State team has played BYU and Oregon state and afforded themselves very well. They have a decent secondary and a good pass rush. If it gets into a shootout I like Portland State's QB and team. I think PSU wins by 2 TD's. 38-24 or thereabouts. I like this one but line movement makes it tough.
Southern Utah +4.5: UNI defense was exposed vs Cal Poly. A WEAK cal poly team that was able to do what ever they wanted AT UNI. Now they have to travel to SUU and win? Man that is going to be tough... the MVFC is the better conference but the Big Sky holds their own. I think this is going to be a tough slobberknocking battle. SUU put up over 600 total yards on the road vs SFA. UNI defense is stronger but this SUU offense is pretty good.
Fordham Under 75; I may be crazy- Normally Fordham is a straight over team but with Edmonds hurt and the way the season has started for both teams I think we see a get back to basics type game. Lots of rushes. lets hope we can limit turnovers and explosive plays and we will a 41-24 type game.
I have a few more but I have not put the full amount of my wager in yet so I am not going to cover them, yet.
I played 2 FBS plays:
Purdue +7.5; I dont think Mizzoo should be laying points to a big ten school
Illinois +17; I like what Illinois is doing and I am not a Charley Strong fan. Think he needs to go back to coaching defense only.
Some awesome games this week- The battle of the Dakotas, UTM vs UTC and the ivy league finally gets going. a couple more totals and sides later in the week.
