Slim pickins, I'd say.
It's unfortunate so many had to die for some of these parties.

I can't really blame a lot of you if you can't muster the courage to go out and vote, but it takes civic action to make positive changes. Best of luck.

Kickserve, BTW, is the Bloc the one that wants the french canadians to secede from Canada?

it seems like the leaders all of america's "allies" gets elected by usually running on an anti-american platform.

so, imo the person who runs the biggest anti-american campaign will probably win.

so, kickserv if you can tell me who is running on the biggest anti-american platfoem, i would appreciate it.

my wife has many family & friends living in canada & i would like to know the answer to the above before i speak to them. (if you know what i mean-lol).

yes.......it is the Bloc.......if they ran the country.........I'd be ashamed to call myself a Canadian.......just my opinion.

AR182:

That's a tough question.........sure some others on here would differ but I'd say it's the party currently in power (Liberal). But as I said it's open for debate. In case you care the party that "likes" the US the most seems to be the Green Party. Of course others would differ on that point as well. So bottom line, I'm not helping you am I :D

and for those wondering.......the Bloc isn't some fringe party, they get their fair share of seats in parliament. Hopefully they won't win as many seats this time around.

I think I still have a right to complain even if I don't vote. Because all of the major parties have knuckleheads for leaders. There is no good choice this election.

Paul Martin, Liberal - Wow, has this guy gone from looking like a shoe-in to a bumbling idiot. New Ontario budget hurts the Liberal's chances greatly. The country is leery about giving the Liberals their 4th straight mandate too. Funniest thing I ever heard was him telling Bush "We will not call on you to defend us. We can defend ourselves". How the hell did he keep a straight face saying that? We have two 40-year old helicopters and a tugboat defending us. We wouldn't last 15 minutes if invaded. Oh ya...we don't need the USA's help. 20 million square kilometers of land and an armed forces of about 45 soldiers are going to keep it secure.

Stephen Harper, Conservative - Nobody knows who he really is. Their best strategy is to keep it that way, and he's keeping a very low profile. Conservative / Alliance reunification was badly needed to ensure Canada has some form of a democracy and is not ruled by the Liberal Party for the next 100 years.

Jack Layton, NDP - Give me a break. The guy is earning $120,000 a year and lives in public housing and pays no taxes. Completely ineffective while a member of Toronto City Council. Another stumblebum.

Whoever, Bloc Quebecois - Not a factor to win the election but will surely dominate Quebec as usual. Not interested in anything except their own separatist agenda (leave already, would you??). Lots of young French people who don't know any better vote for these clowns.

No other party will garner even one seat.

What ever happened to the Natural Law party? They believed in rhythmic bouncing while cross-legged and humming as a way to solve all our ills. I think they had it right. Doug Henning (master illusionist) was their leader. "It's all an illuuuuuuuusionnnnn..."

Well, I guess the Marijuana party gets my vote this go around.

the bloc will win about 50 seats maybe more in Quebec unless the liberals can come back quick.

Conservatives will win most of the west, and liberals win the maritimes.

that leaves Ontario, in March liberals would have swept the province, since then the provincial liberals won and went back on the word to raise taxes.

so it could be anything from
conservative minority
liberal minority
small liberal majority.

as for the bloc they are for seperate Quebec however they are not that interested in that at this time. The numbers are down, and will only go up once the economy turns down.

Martin has not run a good campaign also feel sorry for him as many of the problems are not his doing. He has not control over the provincial liberals, and them raising taxes.

Harper is well spoken and is a good debater, many people have underestimated him as a leader, he has already joined the alliance and the conservatives the two parites on the right.

NDP could win about 15-18 seats 18%-20% of the votes. NDP are to the left but they are even moving to the center by promising balanced budgets for the next five years.
inheritance tax will hurt them. Layton has said some dumb things but everyone knows his name which is better than most of their leaders.

as for negative american campaign. there is none. Liberals tried to make an issue of conservatives having to many American policies but they were not attack ads.

there are three parites to choose and good candiates running, go out and vote or do not bother whinning.

one final note Liberal and conservatives are both going to increase military spending. Conservative by more.

as for Cdn. we are an important ally of the US, anyone who thinks different should serve 6 months in wonderful Afganistan, like thousands of cdn. soldiers do........

thanks

Canadian Action party ? The party emphasizes Canada's independence from the U.S., opposing globalization and free trade.

Time to kick Martin and his cronies the phuck out.Bastards have been stealing our money and no one ever held accountable. And that old goat of a Governor General. She decides to take 50 of her friends on a little holiday on the taxpayer.Cost us over 5 mill.Gun registry was a total disaster.we where told it would cost 1 mill.It ended up costing over 1 billion.Ad scandal, over 100 mill went missing and Martin told us he wouldn't call an election until the people responsible where found.Another lie.One thing after another:bsflag :bsflag :moon:

I can agree with most of what you said, but don't be fooled.... this is and always will be their principal agenda, to break up the country. It's just that at this point in time it's not as popular. It comes and goes in waves and the tide is out right now. Like any party, they will say and do whatever it takes to get elected... and when the time is right they'll hold yet another referendum, and another, and another, until finally one of them ends up "Yes".

....

I'll add too that above I said I would still complain even if I did not vote. Well...I am not really keen on any of them, but I have decided I will be voting this election... and I'll be voting for the Conservatives, even though most of my views are usually closer to Liberal. I'm not the kind of person who is stuck on one party... I'm one of those valuable "swing" vote people I guess. :) I just can't support these corrupt Liberals anymore. Lets give some other corrupt party a chance to screw us in new and innovative ways.
