So. Cal
my guy has these odds to win it all

pit 12-1

unc 30-1

pur 30-1

byu 35-1

all much better than what their real odds should be (expect maybe unc)....BUT.....do any of them ACTUALLY have a shot to win it all??? these could be 1-3-2-1 seeds and at those prices......why not????

then again.....i'm not a value guy, as there is no value in a loser (and i hate pitt and think they get bounced before the final 4, as usual)

Alll those odds are off except

UNC, don't see BYU winning it all, but believe Purdue has a shot and with those odds i would put 100 on it at least:shrug: (real odds around 12-1)

I would agree. I wouldn't play UNC, but any of the other three seem like good value.
I would probably play Pitt or Purdue at those prices.

UNC will not win, sweet 16 maybe elite 8, but not winning it.

interesting.....think this year is wide open with no truly elite teams and unc seems to be playing better lately but still seem to struggle on offense occasionally.

pitt and byu could possibly be in the same bracket, 1 and 2 ...just thinking out loud.

true....heck, they all could be in the same bracket that's the downside to making the wager right now

but

if i wait 2 weeks, i'm pretty sure there's no way i get those odds as they'll all drop....and some significantly (byu-pur should be in the 10-12 range)

i am impressed by byu.

noone is given em a chance, kinda like butler last year.

really think they could do a lot if they knock down the 3's. When you have a playmaker like Jimmer, you just need the role players to do their jobs and ya never know....

If jimmer can go for 25-40 each game (i know sounds like a lot, but not for this kid), then BYU has enough around him to really make some noise.

then again, its BYU, so could lose first round

I would put hundred on em and root for jimmers:toast:

I know I was impressed waching them vs. SDST on saturday.

Only one of those that has a shot in hell of even sniffing the Final Four is Pitt.

you do realize those 4 might just all be top 4 seeds, this making them 4 of the top 16 teams in a tourney that lacks any real good teams this year???

as for pitt....i actually like them the least of the 4 and might actually replace them with the cuse who are also 35-1

BYU: loses first game they play against someone that has a defensive stopper or just a great man2man, help defense

UNC: seriously, you think this ultra-young and concentration deficient team has a shot to win a championship?

Purdue: this is the only one of the three I would think might prove me wrong, but seriously, what have they done outside of the piss poor joke that is the Big Ten this year? Think they have peaked and get upset first weekend.

Pitt: They're only the team with the best record in BY FAR the best conference in the country. I can certainly see why you like them the least of the four.

As for the tournament lacking any "real good" teams? That is simply not true. There may not be any great teams, but I would submit that KU, Pitt, Duke are all teams that would easily handle the other teams on the list when playing with intensity, focus and determination.

while i agree that ku, pitt ,duke, tex, ohio st all "look" like the 5 best teams.....all five are nowhere near the elite level of a usual top 5 team in colll basketball....it's a pretty down year and the seperation between those 5 and the next 10 is almost zero.

Agreed, I think it's wide open this year, I'll wait for the brackets to come out before I make my future bet to win it all. Good luck on your plays.
