Anyone know what the field is like right now? Should we expect a slop like LSU/Penn St last year?

From what I hear, yes. There is no way they will be able to get that field in any kind of playable condition by tonight.

I'm going to stick with my SDSt pick, but I'll be sweating it out I'm sure. I'm going to put something on the under for sure.

they pumped all the water off and are painting the field logo right now- just saw a live feed and the field looks great- but the stadium is in a valley and there is bound to be more water coming up from the ground after 3 days of rain in my view- I'm seeing sunshine for the first time in about 3 days- even with a day of sunshine, I'm guessing that by halftime- we won't necessarily have soup, but possibly some form of chowda-
also- w/ two navy bases and 50000 seats, I don't see as huge of a home field advantage as one might expect- not sure how this may help - jimmie olsen signing off

That field was under 10" of rain. There will have to be some kind of footing problems tonight.

Seems like this gives a huge advantage to the pass happy offense of SD state compared to the Navy triple option. Any one have any insight on how triple option teams have performed in muddy slop ??

I think a sloppy field neutralizes SD St's speed in the passing game....

Ronnie Hillman is a pretty good RB for Aztecs. So they can run the ball, but it will hurt if their two big WRs can't stretch the field.

Honestly though looking at this in the simplest fashion..... Lets say the field is so bad that the passing game just is grounded. Well what offense do you think is harder to stop. The pro/spread or the triple option. considering gefense against the otion need to keep their feet and gap I think Navy has a big time edge.

Agree, plus think Navy will be hampered more as triple option requires more precise cutting.
Mids could be at huge disadvantage here.
