Curious to some of the arguments/debates the real committee is encountering every night, so maybe we can recreate it here....

Don't want this to turn into a shit show.....if anyone wants to argue or fight go to another thread

just want your opinions in a respectful manner

I am curious who your final 4 for the playoff would be if you are part of the committee?

Can update it every week and see what changes in peoples opinions....

Mine right now would be

1. BAMA vs. 4. OHIO STATE
2. FLA ST vs. 3 OREGON

FIRST 4 Out- 5. MISS ST 6. TCU 7. GEORGIA 8. MICH ST

FLA ST- is defending champs, and undefeated again this year...........SOS is what everyone knocks em for, but they have beaten more top 25 teams then the other 3 contenders in what my bracket would be......as well as MISS ST if they are to make it.....

OHIO ST- would hang and be competitive with ANY team in the nation......Barrett was a much younger freshman in terms of football years in regards to the VA tech loss. If the committee's job is to determine the best 4 football teams in the nation with how they are playing now as well as their resume from earlier in year, well OSU only has that 1 loss along with a now more experienced QB who handed MSU a whoopin on the road

BAMA- They are bama. as long as they remain a 1 loss team, there is no doubt in my mind they would be the favorite going into this thing....

OREGON- Not a big fan of this team this year.....love the program but do not think they can win the title.....however, I have to put them in based off of record/resume and the way they can score. I think MISS ST is deserving just as much if not more, but have to look outside the SEC with bama already in

I had the same prediction. The only difference is, I made mine in early October, not too long after Virginia Tech beat OSU. It is documented on an FSU fan site called Warchant.com. If this scenario does play out, I'll be bragging about it somewhere lol :mj07:

I think bama/osu final would be much better then ppl think..i gave it to the SEC for many years.....they werent just better, they were much better.....

Bama and lsu and fla and auburn and GA and mizzou and on and on.....

But these past two years it has shifted towards a much more competitive balance.....

Bama doesnt have the same playmakers at all 11 spots on defense....they dont have a mcelroy or a McCarron to count on....Sims has talent but a lot more to develop as a passer/leader before im confident saying Bama would beat anyone by 20+ in finals like years past. ...i love the Bama program and still think they are #1 seed right now, but look out for Auburn and whoever in Sec finals cause anything can happen.

Bama would of never lost to VAtech this year. But neither would OSU if their starting QB and team leader didnt get hurt....

Ole miss beat bama....Arky and WVU and Ole miss and Lsu and fuck even west carolina showed that Bama can be scored on this year much easier then years past....and all those teams competed well....if they can so could OSU with urban meyer at the helm. ...

Bama should be the fav. But i think osu would be most fun....oregon as well.

Thats who you'd want or who you think is in? I like UCLA hope you are right lots of points in this one

i think this can actual happen...FLA ST could be a ez out ..I believe Miss St loses this week...Last UCLA looks like a beast now and they have the physical defense that gives Oregon fits..It could happen...

I know what it is right now but at the end of the season when they make the final 4 in December is what counts!!

1. Oregon
2. Florida St
3. Miss St
4. Baylor or Bama

First out - TCU, Ohio St, Alabama or Baylor

Alabama if they win vs Auburn this week, you think they can beat Mizzou? How about their Bowl game? They lost to Oklahoma last year!

Ohio St schedule says it all now with VT looking worse each week other than a give away game they got from Puke, no one else on schedule other than Michigan St helps their schedule.

Oregon @ 1 only because they will win out, beating Michigan St in week 1 doesn't look all that great now on paper, but it's a better win than Ohio St losing to V Tech.

Miss St should they win vs Ole Miss, doubt they lose, has been undervalued most of the year and if they played Bama again at a neutral site, would beat Bama.

Baylor plays T Tech this week? That will be a shootout in Arlington and then have K State next week, K State won't hang with them so Baylor will win out and there is no Big12 Championship game.

TCU could lose @ Texas, if they win, that's the end of their regular schedule and their only loss vs Baylor this year.

Florida St? They just win!! If they win out, they should beat Florida, I wouldn't be shocked if they lose, but for arguments sake say they win, they will beat one dimensional Ga Tech, and for being unbeaten how could they not be in Final 4? That would be political if the committee doesn't have them in final 4 for going undefeated!!

Just my 3 1/2 cents!!

GL!

Call me crazy Final 4!

1 - Bama - Just dont see them losing to Auburn or Mizzou/UGA in SEC Championship game.
2 - Ohio St. - They beat Michigan and then probably face Wisky in Big Ten title game.
3 - Baylor - I am iffy on this team, they walk all over Tech this week but KSU will give them a tough game due to their D. I could see BU losing to KSU.
4 - UCLA - Yep, a 2 loss gets in with one of the toughest schedules and they will knock off Oregon in the Pac-12 title game. Oregon D is ranked 93rd in the nation......this will do them in. Who knows, maybe Oregon St. gives them a heck of a game, they only lost 36-35 last year at Oregon, this year its at Corvallis.

FSU loses to UF or GT in conf. title game. Call me crazy, but this team does it with smoke and mirrors, plus they struggle against mobile QB's, both UF and GT has that dynamic at QB.

TCU loses to Texas tmrw!

Miss. St. at 11-1 gets left out due to no conf. championship. Now if BU loses to KSU, then Miss. St. gets in!!

Tcu WILL NOT lose to Tx! They have had a week off and their speed will blind Texas!
They will make a statement to all the committee members watching the game on their couch with turkey filled bellies
Bama
Oregon
Tcu
Fla st

Joe frog...back me up on this!?!

I don't know what to think of Ohio State because I do think they're playing good football but man that loss to VaTech is too much for me. You say Barrett was a much young frosh in the loss and I agree but how the F do they give up 35 to that team at home? There is no excuse for their D to play that badly and also do it at home. They scored enough to beat the VaTech team, they just couldn't stop them. I say this because VaTech just played in the worst college football game I've ever seen.

yes true.....never thought about it from that perspective. I suppose VA TECH losing to Wake in a game where after four quarters wake had a big fat ZERO on the scoreboard doesn't help.....

I am not at all excusing the loss to VA Tech. It was a terrible loss. I just don't hold it in as high of regard as most do to the crazy circumstances ohio st was put in the week prior.....still a terrible loss.....
No doubt the worse loss of all the 1 loss teams......but with how they are playing now I just think they would have a better chance at winning it then the other teams.....Urban meyer is a huge advantage come post season. just my opinion but many thnk differently....that is why the playoff is great but should be 8 teams....

more importantly, what happened to frank beamer and the HOKIES?

when did VATECH become a terrible loss to have on a resume? last year they gave bama all they could handle for 60 minutes opening week, and now they are considered possibly the worst loss to have???????? what happened?

I like this actually

love UCLA

I am not a fan of Baylor....just nothing about them tells me they are the best team in the nation.....VERY GOOD team....but not top 4.........

I honestly have some of the same feelings towards FSU.....I just have them in because I think you have too........

undefeated defending champs with wins over ranked ND, LVILLE, CLEMSON, and a unranked but good Miami team that was playing well....They may win close games and do it unconvincingly, but they win nonetheless, and I feel until they are beating they should have the chance to defend their crown....

but again, I think like you that they are beatable in basically all 3 phases and have been very fortunate. some say a person makes their own luck and fortune by being prepared and experienced... but I dont buy that with this group.....they have just been lucky....nothing more....

Ohio States loss to Va Tech was bad for the Buckeyes, no doubt about it. But to say "they just couldn't stop them".....it's not like Va Tech went up and down the field. Va Tech had 324 total yards in that game and their last score, with a minute to go in the game, was a pick six. OSU was starting a red-shirt freshman (in his first collegiate game) with 4 new O-lineman. I'm not making excuses, just stating facts. Here's something else to consider....

From David Hale of ESPN.com:

And since that loss to Virginia Tech, Ohio State has been nearly flawless.
The Buckeyes are 8-0 and have won by an average of 28 points -- the top
scoring margin for any Power 5 team during that span. Its opponents?
winning percentage during that time is better than that of Oregon, Florida
State, Mississippi State and TCU
-- teams all ranked ahead of Ohio State.
It has toppled two ranked teams in Michigan State and Minnesota, both on
the road. It has scored 49 points or more six times.

If the goal is to put the best teams into the playoff, Ohio State?s case is sound.
In fact, there may not be a team in the country playing better football right now
than the Buckeyes. Barrett has gone from a deer in headlights to a Heisman
candidate. The offensive line has allowed just 10 sacks in the last eight games.
The defense is light-years ahead of Oregon by virtually every metric.

That article from David Hale was posted before last weeks games.

I don't mean to question anyone's opinion, obviously we all have our own opinion. But IF Ohio State beats Michigan and wins the Big Ten Championship over Wisky, who will most likely be rated near the top ten....I don't know how you can keep Ohio State out of the playoffs.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
