The pro has been beaten... in the most anti-climactic fashion possible.

What was meant to be a teeth-and-nails handicapping duel between two seasoned gamblers turned instead into an exercise in apathy as both contestants limped to the finish. I contacted the pro earlier today and he confirmed what I already suspected: like me, he had long since stopped taking the contest seriously because the load of required plays was too large and it presented an inaccurate gauge of his true handicapping ability.

The obvious question is, "why weren't the stakes made higher to ensure a more competitive contest?" That is an excellent point, and most likely if I ever enter a competition with another handicapper, I'll make sure the stakes are at least a dime to make it actually mean something to my gambling bankroll if I lose.

I want to thank Lafe Merchant for not only entering the contest, but thrashing both the pro and me soundly. He is a solid handicapper in the hockey forum and you guys should check out his plays.

Anyone who would like to see the final results can see them at this we address:
