3-0 last night, 40-32 (+2.1*) YTD

Minnesota +3, 3* to win 2.5* (( line jumped to2.5, bought half point ))

When I first looked at this line I liked Michigan a lot and actually squeezed them into a $50 parlay card. But now, I think Minnesota gets a huge win. (Huge for their program I mean, not a blowout).

Bottom line, Minnesota is better in virtually every stat and has the momentum and home truf/crowd advantage. Yes, they've played weak competition, but if you compare their numbers to what their opponents have been averaging against them, they're still all better than the same differential in Michigan's games.

Minny- 277 rushing yards per game, 5.3 per carry, 59% completions, 10.3 yards per pass attempt, 473 yards per game, 11 yards per point.

Mich-199rush yds per game, 4.9 ypc, 55% comp, 7.2 ypa, 458 ypg, 12.6 yards per point.

Minnesota is also averaging a ridiculous 59.8 percent on third downs. The defense is allowing 13 points against teams averaging 19, while Michigan is a bit better giving up 14 against teams averaging 23.

Michigan has struggled on the road. The Wolves are averaging 1.4 ypc on the road and are giving up a point for every 11 yards. Of course they're also 0-2, both times as faves.

Minny also is forcing more turnovers and comitting fewer than michigan. Bottom line, I think Minnesota has been the better team. They're not just winnin games, theyre killing people, winning by margins of 39, 41, 22, 34, 6 and 25.

People want to talk about how Michigan has played better teams, but who have they beaten? CMU, Notre Dame, Houston and Indiana. This is a tough game to call and could go either way, but I have a feeling Minnesota get a landmark win tonight.

Gl Jeff. . . certainly a contrarian play. I think a key difference will be the offensive line for Michigan against Minnesota's weak and undersized D-line. When Navarre has time to sit back and relax, his percentages go way up as opposed to when he is all excited and throws the ball 15 feet in the air expecting is WRs to pull them down. I think Perry has a great day on the turf and Michigan's speedy WRs along with their talented return specialist will be just enough.

Any thoughts on South Florida/TCU? Home team looks like another contrarian play ;)

I think you're right about the line play. Michigan certainly has that in its favor. A lot of this play just has to do with how unbelievable this Minny offense has been and the difference in momentum between the teams. I think Michigan's players could be flat now that their national title hopes have suddenly gone down the drain. Meantime its the game of a lifetime for the Minnesota players. Something to look at if the game is close late or if Minny build an early lead. This is like the super bowl for them. If they win, I might have to fade them next week.

Still looking at that TCU game, very tough one to call. Hard to bet against that home win streak or that run defense...back in a bit.

"the bunker"
another strange line move

another strange line move

consensus` appear to favor tcu, but, the line moves towards so fla.....that always makes me wonder...heavy hitters weighing in on so.fla.?.....or do the books have their own agenda?

they have around a 20 or 21 game home win streak on the line.....

tcu gets qb tye gunn back....very important..the guy runs that offense brilliantly....

i honestly don`t have a strong feeling on these 2....i`m very reticent to play these individual games...and after getting a push last night on sou carolina in a game i feel i should have won handily(the back-up qb comes in and does a michael vick impression),i feelgood about sitting on my hands....

g.l.,though jeff.....nice start to the weekend...

Feelin' like a sucker for playing Michigan, but the success of the Minnesota offense has depended directly on the success that they've had on first down. I need to see that Minny QB convert a long third down before Minnesota will get my money. Michigan still has much to play for as they're a program that puts Rose Bowls ahead of NCs and they are still well on track.

Hopefully, We'll get a one-point Michigan win.

gw -- That TCU game is a really tough call. I might make a play on the total, but don't see a great advantage on either side. 21 game home streak vs. ridiculous run D and Gunn back...hmmm.

Bobby- I don't think either side is really a sucker bet. Like I said, this should be a close one.

Hopefully, We'll get a one-point Michigan win.

So then it's settled: Michigan 28, Minny 27.

Glad we got that comprimise out of the way, now I don't have to watch the game.:D

I'm having a hard time getting excited over this Minny team. They should be ashamed of themselves for setting up the non-conference games that they did. At least put one challenge in there. I know they want to schedule so that they can qualify with enough wins for a bowl game, but it is chicken shit to me. Their two Big Ten wins were to 2 of the worst the conference has to offer. I am looking for Michigan to win this game by double digits, and watch Minnesota fall in the rankings the rest of the year. I could be wrong, but I do not see this team in the same class as Michigan, Ohio State, or Iowa. I am going to bet fairly healthy on Michigan this evening, and we will see what Minny has. If it takes for me to have to pay to be a believer, than that I will, but until then, Minny is going to have to start working on their non-conference scheduling before they gain my respect.
Good luck to all.

Hi JEFF,

I wanted to congratulate you on your picks. I have been following many posts and it seems that you consistantly do well. I also saw you on bettors world with your post on parlays. I take it you have done well being a CONTRARIAN... using parlays and betting against the second side if first side wins to pick your winners and betting against consesus. Job well done.
