just downloaded firefox for the first time this week. For most websites, it's faster. The only trouble I've had is on a few places where it won't load everything and says I need to download plugins. The thread on here started by kneifl I think with the favorite youtube videos, some of the videos posted are imbeded. With IE, I can just click and they play. With firefox, they don't work at all, and no picture shows up, and I can't figure out how to make them work.

Also interesting, this dog :mj23: is running like hell with firefox compared to IE, and Vinnie's avatar
00vin1.gif
is REALLY going to town with firefox compared to IE :142smilie

My bank website also won't work with firefox; I can't see the box to enter in the password, and it also won't show the "sitekey", so I have to use IE for it.

I like firefox. I think its the most well rounded. Google is probably the fastest of the 3, but it doesn't work with a lot of websites.

In my opinion, Firefox is on its way out. Don't waste your time adopting it now.

Early adopters and Microsoft-haters were the vast majority of FF base. Chrome fits both of these bills and actually does NEW stuff instead of just improving (slightly in most cases) already adopted pieces.

I have more problems with Firefox working with many web-based applications than I have with Chrome.

I use Chrome most of the time when doing personal, bs web stuff. IE when I am working (unless beta testing for browser compliance issues). I can see the day when I fully adopt Chrome once it is in the marketplace longer.

I'm trying Chrome, but I really don't like it.

They really re-thought what a browser is and is supposed to do. There are fundamental changes for the overall good that will take getting accustomed to, imo.

My overall opinion is that your best options are IE7 or Chrome.

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
With this same theme, I also am having problems with Firefox?
For some reason I can not reload the latest Flash player Plug-in. Some sights like weather.com uses this for their radar weather map, and the download gets moved to my desktop, and when I try to execute it, it just quits.
Any ideas? :SIB

6/5, I have been using FF for years now, and still like it, of course I know all the little tweaks now, and like you would find it hard to change. But if someone doesn't find answer to my problem above, I might make the jump too...

I had the same flash problem, F.W.

On my screen, it would say something like the page can't be loaded correctly/fully and give me the option to click and download a flash program. I would click it, but then it would do nothing. The next day, I noticed my desktop had 12 flash download icons. I double-clicked one of them, it downloaded, and now everything works. Maybe that's your problem?

Anyway, I can't figure out on Google chrome how to do the Edit and then find on page option. I use that a lot. Also there are no tabs on the top like I'm used to File, tools, edit, view, etc.

edit Ctrl +F does a search for a word on the page. no edit tab though. Learning process I guess.

I have this thread up now with all 3 browsers.

With IE and Chrome, the dog and vinnie's avatar are moving slowly. With Firefox, the dog is running about 100mph, and vinnie's worms are getting rubbed terribly raw. I see no advantage in Chrome so far at all. It's definitely not any faster than IE.
